I went to the hospital to find Mary to give her her water but I didn't find her. So, since I was in a hurry I told the lady at the front desk to give it to her. She just rolled her eyes and nodded before I walked away.As I walked to the car, I hugged the jacket of my suit closer to me. I ran the rest of the way and quickly jumped in my car.
After about five minutes of trying to find my way to Jordan's house, I arrived. I pulled in the driveway and grabbed my lighter that I hid in the center consul, along with the new pack of cigarettes I just bought and climbed out my car.
I stood against Jordan's house as I waited for the other guys to get here. I put a cigarette up to my lips and lit the end, taking a drag after. I pulled it from my lips with my index and middle finger, and blew out the smoke.
I haven't smoked in a while, mostly because Jess said I shouldn't be smoking, but now, I guess there is no point anymore. She probably doesn't give a shit what I do. For all she could care, she probably hopes I die from lung cancer. Or at least that's how I feel. I deserve it.
Not long after I got there, Jacob's car pulled up the driveway, next to my car. Jacob and a few of our other friends, whose names were Joseph, Kyle, and Mason, climbed out of his car and walked over to where I was.
"Hey." Jacob said, as he walked up to me. I nodded back and took another drag. I blew out the smoke to the side and threw the cigarette on the ground, stepping on it after.
"So what's the plan?" I asked him, my voice a bit raspy from smoking for the first time in a while.
"We are gonna go out to downtown but we are waiting for Jordan to get some booze from his parents' cabinet." He explained, putting his hands in his pockets. I nodded once again and stuffed my hands in the pockets of my suit as well.
I looked at the lot of us. We all just came from the prom so we were all still wearing our tuxes. I was completely zoned out for about five minutes, just thinking of everything, until Jordan walked out from his house, the sound of glass clinking against each other following him.
"Okay, got the booze." He said, grabbing all of our attention, holding up two six packs of beer along with a full bottle of whiskey. "Let's party."
~
Ten beers and a little more than half a bottle of whiskey later, we were trashed. We were downtown just running around the streets of the city.
The six of us were constantly getting weird looks from our formal attire and how idiotic we were probably being. We had already gotten kicked out of two bars in the past four hours.
"Guyss, I'm bored. Let's hit the c-club!" Mason yelled, making us cheer in agreement. We walked for another fifteen minutes before we found a higher class club. There was a long ass line for it being one in the morning. We somehow managed to sneak in and get past all the guards.
We were in there for about fifteen minutes until Jacob and I sat down in a booth.
"So..." He started, looking off into space trying to find his words. "Why so upset?" He asked as I lit a cigarette. I inhaled the smoke, making my throat covered in the nicotine. I looked over at him and raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" I asked slowly.
"Well.." He started, looking off into the crowd of dancing bodies. "You haven't smoked in a while. And when you did...you weren't necessarily..happy." He explained vaguely, but I knew what he meant. I wasn't stupid, even though I was drunk.
"Just...some crazy shit happened and I don't feel good about it." I said, thinking back to her. "Fuck." I muttered taking another swig of my drink. I was drinking to get her out of my mind but that didn't even work. She was the only thing on my mind, always.
He nodded and hummed in understanding before looking away.
"Get the fuck off me man!" I heard someone yell. Jacob and I looked at each other, immediately knowing who it was. "Mason." We said to each other before climbing out of the booth we were in and walked to the bar area.
Sure enough, there Mason and Jordan stood with some guy, Kyle standing behind them. Jordan was telling the guy to back off but the other guy was pushing our two friends and cussing at them. Jacob and I walked over to Mason, Jordan, and Kyle to see what was going on.
"Ash! Tell this guy to fuck off. Face it man, there is five of us and one of you. You don't stand a chance." Jordan yelled in has face, shoving the guy back. The guy growled as four guys came up behind him. I'm guessing it's not just five against one anymore?
"Okay, okay. Let's just calm down and go back to our lives. We-" I was saying, but someone interrupted.
"Fuck this." One of the guys said, smashing a bottle on my head. Everyone broke out in punches, even the people who were just in the crowd were fighting each other.
I got a few good punches on one guy, he responded by punching me in the face twice. The adrenaline was surging through my body. I threw the guy off me and pushed him on the ground, climbing on top of him.
I gave him one punch after the other, his face and my knuckles getting more red by the second. I couldn't hear the fighting going around me anymore, the pounding in my ears blocking out everything.
I know I should've stopped but, I was letting out all my rage. I was letting out all the emotions left in me. Or I was until someone pulled me away from him. I squirmed and struggled to get out of the person's grasp, but I wouldn't budge.
I looked behind me, and saw a face of a police officer. I looked around and saw all the guys also being held by officers.
Great. Exactly what I needed, to be arrested.
