A crisp and chilly breeze
Calms the air on this Autumn Day
As the sun begins to peek its head
Through the puffy snow-white clouds that lay.Rustling leaves begin to fall
From their mother's lively home
And take a foreign journey
To a new and unknown landing zoneAcorns are a pleasant nuisance
As they drop from the limbs of trees
They pounce and pester all things below
And on the sod, they lay and wait
To become a critters prime cuisineFattened pumpkins all aglow
Are pulled from their ripened patch
Brought to the barn and lined up slovenly
Waiting for a person's snatchOn this Autumn day
Farmers fill their barn lofts high
With a winter months supply
Of comfy bails of golden hayDelicious apples are picked and peeled
From their trees, they are seized
Made into pies and butter, cookies and cider
These apples, they are tightly squeezedOn this Autumn day
A harvest moon rises in the East
But if you missed it, not to worry
We get two of them this year at least
