Chapter 12

As the weeks went on more pack members arrived and we decided to divide the houses up for the members that already had families first and would build more as members started settling down and making families of their own. And those that had not and were already adults could stay in the pack house. As things were settling down we went and saw my family. My parents were so happy to see Amara again and so was my sister who was so glad that we were ok and able to come back. She didn't understand the reason why we lived in the neighborhood that we do now but I told her while we were in Ireland we had sorta made a community that was ready to find somewhere else to live to accommodate all of us. It was safer that way for me an Amara which she understood nobody was crazy enough to try and hurt me or her now with so many people living with us. Amara met her cousins who all liked her and thought she was cool with her being able to speak Icelandic and thought the whole language sounded pretty cool. Her youngest cousin wanted her to come to school for culture appreciation day so that they had a different culture there and she could show off to her friends that her cousin was pretty cool my sister and I laughed at this. As time went on we didn't have any problems with the pack that had threatened us before or any other difficulties. We got all the children enrolled into schools, even got the pack hospital up and running and I was back to working on patching people up and checking in on their younger kids. In a couple weeks though the Alphas would all have a get to gather to meet all the new Alphas that had come to power and talk on any difficulties that each pack may be having or if a pack needed to add more land due to them growing. Amra would be leaving for that with her Beta who was such a nice boy he was so respectful and sweet. But don't let that fool you that the boy was down right deadly which i guess was a good thing means he could look after my baby girl better. Amara has started getting used to living in the pack house that was once hers. And seeing the pictures of what were once her family as well I know she took it a lot harder than she let on in the beginning she was grieving for a family that she would never know. I'm hoping after the gathering that maybe some of the old pack members will come back and maybe give her the closure that she needs as well as be able to answer the questions about her family that she wants to know so bad.

Amara is leaving for the gathering today. It makes me so nervous I have no idea if the man who attacked my house is gonna be there. And if he is what he's gonna say to her I wish I could go but Connor doesn't think that it would be the best idea because not only would that make the other Alphas uncomfortable having a human there but i would be an easy target for them to use against Amara. I know he's right but it doesn't make it any easier on me to let her go there.

Amara's pov

As I got ready to leave the pack for the Alphas summit I couldn't help but feel nervous how could i not. I would be in a room full of other Alphas and possibly my parents killer would he know it's me from sight if not he would definitely know after they announce who i am and where my pack is located now. I can't help but feel like this is gonna cause a problem that we're gonna have to fight our way out of. This only causes my anxiety to come up more. My Beta Erin comes up beside me sensing my anxiety he puts his hand on my shoulder giving it a squeeze. With a nod I closed up my suitcase And went to tell my mom goodbye before I left. Needless to say she had packed a whole cooler full of food for me and Erin. She always did that whenever we went on road trips she must have been as nervous as I was due to the amount of food in the cooler. After making sure that everything that we needed was packed into the car we waved one last time to the pack and got in the car and left. It took us Six hours to arrive at the pack that was holding the summit this year. The pack members brought us to our rooms that were besides each other and told us that the meeting would start at nine am and dinner would be served in two hours so if we wanted to go ahead freshen up. And take a nap that we could I thanked the young girl and went into my room for a quick shower and nap. My alarm went off. I got dressed for dinner and made my way down stairs with Erin for dinner. Stepping into the dinning hall I saw all the other Alphas pause and look us over. Probably trying to figure out which of us was the Alpha and the Beta. As we sat down at the table to start dinner both me and Erin were starving. At this point curse this werewolf appetite, I ate enough food to make a Highschool football linebacker jealous. As dinner progressed I got to know some of the other Alphas that were sitting around us. I found that Alpha Logan's pack was four hours away from mine and he was pretty cool and made both me and Erin laugh during most of dinner. The Alpha farther down the table kept glowering at me I felt like something was off about him since I first made eye contact with him. I brushed it off and enjoyed dinner anyways afterwards me and Erin went back to my room. I told Erin about the Alpha that I had seen at dinner.
