When the sun's rays bend light through millions of raindrop's, color appears on the horizon. This is called a rainbow.
When a heart bends and breaks and crumples to the pit of your stomach. This is called heartbreak.
Fortunatly, for me, I've only experienced this horrific feeling once, when the boy of my dreams texted me a simple note. Two words. The two words that could permanently scar me forever; "We're done."
Only the sweetest, honest person on the entire planet could amend the holes and tears in my ticker.
Malcolm Reid.
Although his eyes weren't the most flawless shade of blue, just simple hazel with a ring of gold around the pupil.
His hair wasn't the shiniest. It wasn't slicked back perfectly, without a stray hair in sight. His mahogany locks were short, but tousled.
Every time he looks at me, every time he talks to me, my heart skips a beat. Every.Single.Time.
For all the reasons in the world, I know he likes me. I know he likes it when I talk to him, and when I twirl my dark purple hair in my fingers.
Thats why he plays with his thumbs, and rubs his neck, and taps his feet. His soul, his heart, his mind. Everything about him is nervous.
Sometimes, I just can't get my eyes off of him. Every class I have with him, my grey eyes can't peel away from his hypnotizing features.
I'm not sure if he'll ever realize my true feelings for him, but when he does, I hope he feels the same.
My eyes fluttered open at the faint knocking on my bedroom window. I peered out of it, observing the window across from mine. Since my parents had divorced, my mom moved into a quaint, small apartment which neighbored its next apartment building, which was about 3 feet away.
Hanging out of his bedroom window was him. Malcolm. He smirked, giving me the chills.
I calmly trudged over to my window and unlocked it, pulling it open with much force.
Malcolm routinely grabbed onto the edge of my window and pulled the rest of himself out of his apartment. He gripped onto the edge, just hanging there. The wind tousled his hair and he grinned.
He knew what he was doing worried me. He did it every day, but it always made me apprehensive, like he could fall any second.
He hung three stories high, and finally, with much ease, he pulled himself into my blue-themed room.
His dark leather jacket now had dust on the sleeves, due to the fact that I never cleaned my window sill.
His blue jeans had grass stains on the knees, and his shoes were covered in mud. It made sense, considering he worked at a horse stables everyday, and it rained every day here in Seattle.
He rubbed his neck and breathed heavily.
I stood there awkwardly, with my arms folded over my pink tank top.
