"Good morning Mum," I put an apple on her shrine, it's been two years she passed away. I slowly stood up and dusted my skirt, "I'm heading out to school now." I look at her shrine one last time and shut the door, dad left because he thought it was me who killed mum. He married another woman and left me in the dust, the most he did was lend me a hundred every two months which barely gets me by, mum passed away in a car accident, she was dropping me off at school when another car rammed into us, they hit the drivers side, mum was killed in an instant but I was lucky. Don't think that for one day I never thought it wasn't my fault, I blame myself for everything that happened that day. I've been paying the electricity and water bills from my job and the money mum saved for me for my sixteenth birthday, it was like she knew what was going to happen two years ago.
Dragons: mythical creatures but in truth they are neither mythical nor creatures. Since time immemorial 72% of all deaths in London have been caused by grotesque beings known as dragons. That is why they're so predominately displayed on the London coat of arms. Rampaging dragons cause great harm to humans, in order to prevent that, the dragons must be monitored. The citizens of Front London cannot see the dragons but there is also Reverse London. Only those who live on the reverse side of London can see the dragons, it inevitably fell to the people of Reverse London to take care of and manage the dragons.
DING DONG. I groaned as we all took our seats, school seemed to go on forever, "Now don't forget, the science assignment will be due in two days." The teacher taps the chalkboard, everyone jolted up, no one's done anything. DING DONG. Everyone ran out of school, "I'm screwed," "I haven't done anything," "Me neither!" Everyone was muttering in the hallways, "Hey Yuki," I turned around and saw Amber and Jean, "Hey guys," I turn around, "Want to hit the cafe? We can have a cheeky chin wag while we're at it," Amber taps my shoulder, Jean nods, "Sorry, I can't come today. I've got to head to mum's grave, it's her second anniversary." I smiled, "Oh, sorry we brought it up," Jean hugs me, "No, it's fine, you guys are my best friends, you guys were there for me when it all happened." I hugged her back, "I've got to get going now though, see ya later, maybe tomorrow," I turn my head around, they nodded and waved, "Bye!" They shouted.
"Hey mum. I probably shouldn't be telling you this but... I have a science task due in like two days... I still haven't started... sorry." I bow my head down, I felt like I could hear her chuckling, "Don't make fun of me," I put her flowers down and wiped a few tears that were forming, "I love you, so much." I touched my fingers across the etched lettering of her name.

I sighed and I felt my tears fall on the headstone, "I miss you so much mum, so much," I choked out, I felt a bright blue light start to shine out, "What the heck?" I look around frantically, "Yuki, if anything happens, there'll be a special someone there to be by your side always. His name is Marrowstrike." I look up and I saw an image of mum, "MUM!" I reached out to her but before I could I felt myself get enveloped in the light.
"What the heck?" I felt myself fall on some cobblestone flooring, "Ow," I rub my butt, I saw a large shadow loom over me, "What... the... HELL!" I screamed and ran as fast as I could, I saw a large white dragon running after me, "PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP!" I yelled as loud as I could, I felt myself get lifted up, "Oh my god! Oh my god! Let me down!" I thought I was going to cry, we kept going higher and higher, "LET GO OF ME!" I thrashed around, "Will you please chill out, it's like you've never ridden a dragon before in your life." I look up and saw a girl with blond hair and green eyes, I look at what she's riding on, "A DRAGON!" A pointed at it, it looked down and cocked its head, "His name is Marshall not 'a dragon'," She scowled, "LET ME OFF THIS THING!" I kicked my legs around. The white dragon let out a strange call, "Magic number 04: Stun Ball," A girl with black hair who I assume is a companion of the blond girl points something that looks like a horn and shoots it at the dragon's chin, it fell back, "Oh Chief. We've subsided a dragon os if we could get a bonus." The black haired girl called someone on her phone, "Dragon insurance!" The blond girl lets me back down and shouts up to an elderly couple who's house was destroyed by the dragon, "Hang on, can someone tell me what's going on? And what the hell is that thing?!" I stop the two of them, "I don't get it, first you act like you've never ridden a dragon, and the next thing you know, you don't even know what a dragon is. Do you have a screw loose?" The blond girl looks at me, "Well I don't know what's going on but I sure as hell know this isn't the London I'm used to." I look around, the two of them whip around at me, "Did you just say the London I know?" The black haired girl walks to me, I slowly nodded, they two of them turn to each other, "This isn't good," They say at the same time, "What's not good?" I stare at them, the white dragon's face slid off, "Um, is that normal?" I saw its green tongue flicker out, "LOOK OUT!" I shouted and pulled the girls to the side with me, "Is that normal?" I shakily point my finger at the white dragon that turned black, "It just went lights out," The blond looks at it as it stepped on a fire hydrant and water showered everywhere, "It's coming!" I started running, "Let's go," They nod, two dragons, showed up and the girls hopped on them, "Hey, hey! What about me!" I shouted as the dragon kept running towards me, "AHH!" Its tongue snapped towards me and I jumped up, "Give me your hand!" The bold reaches out, I grab hold and she flings me onto the back of her red dragon, "Phew, thanks," I wipe my forehead, "Alright, this should be good," The black haired girl said once we dove down from the upper level, we turn around and the large black dragon jumped down, crushing a tunnel in the process, "Oh come on, you're really making it difficult to call in," The blond turns around to the dragon, "In front of you!" A group of seagulls flew out of a tree, "ARGH!" I felt myself start to fly off, she grabbed my wrist and pulled me back into the dragon, the black dragon kept running after us, "Chief. Rutherford Street. We need an emergency dragon blockade." She called the chief, "We've got a dark dragon." She informs, every single phone, every single ad, every single form of advertisement flashed yellow and said warning, dragon blockade, even my phone did. Bars began to come down and cars were stopping, "Due to a dark dragon alert, Rutherford Street is now under a dragon blockade, anyone in the vicinity should seek shelter immediately. Wing Bind has the situation under control." Loud speakers all over town were alerting civilians, "You know what really pisses me off is when they say, 'Wing Bind has the situation under control.'," The blond says, we land on the edge of the Big Ben, "No, because it's our job." The girl with black hair closes her eyes, "Hey are we just going to talk or are we going to have any introductions?" I turn to the two of them, "Oh yeah. Well I'm Ninny Spangcole. And that's Noel Niihashi." She points at the black haired girl, "Nice to meet you Ninny and Noel," I grinned, "What's with the casual first name basis?" Ninny puts her hand on her hip, "O-Oh, sorry, well since I thought we were in England and well I guess everyone calls each other by our first names, I thought it was what you guys wanted to be called." I scratched the back of my head, the two of them burst out laughing, "It's fine, call me by my first name, anyway, who are you?" Ninny grabs my head and drives her fist into it, "Well the name's Yuki Nariko." I laughed, the two of them stopped, "Narik-" Noel was interrupted my her phone, "I see, the dragon is blockaded so it's time we switch out with Sabres." Noel says, Ninny grabs her phone and hangs up, "You know it's rude to hang up on people," I leant against the wall, "Come on, you really think we're going to let Sabres take all the credit?" Ninny grins and throws Noel's phone back, she holds her hand up and blows a loud whistle, "Woah cool, show me how to do that," I sparkled, "Think about it, this is our chance to show HR how powerful we are." Ninny smirks, "Wait what or who's Sabres?" I look at them, "I swear, coming from Front London to Reverse London's so complicated." Ninny shakes her head, "Sabres is a combat division, I want to get promoted to Sabres one day." Ninny looks at the sky, "Our duty as Pipers is to take dragons to pastures and harvest them." Noel begins, Ninny grabs my wrist and pulls me after her, jumping off the Big Ben, "NINNY!" I screamed, Marshall was under us and caught us, I held my buzzing heart, "Like I said, I want to join Sabres!" She jets off, "I grabbed onto Marshall's body as we sped over. "Magic Number 28: Rainy Wheel!" She uses her pipe and shoots the black dragon. There was a boy right there, "Balgo!" Ninny shouted, "You know that guy?! Save him!" I pointed as the black dragon fixated its eyes on him, Noel jumped down and blew her pipe, "Magic Number 75: Battling Crown!" She shoots the black dragon. We flew off again, Noel tied Balgo to the tail of her dragon, "This is giving me a headache," I rubbed my head.
