He tossed in bed and his hand landed on the other side of the bed which was empty.
Generally, Keya didn't leave his embrace till morning, since their marriage, 2 years ago. So this really surprised him, maybe she went to pee or to drink water, maybe he was getting paranoid for no reason. He tossed and turned in bed for another fifteen minutes but their were no signs of Keya. Now he was getting panicky.
He got up from the bed and called out "K? Tom? Keyaaa!!", he looked around the kitchen and balcony but she was nowhere. He checked the washroom door which was open, he peeped inside.
Keya bundled up her legs to her chest hugging them and was crying and shivering a little. He slowly sat by her side and gently patted her head. "What is wrong?", he asked calmly.
"I just had a very bad nightmare. I saw Aakash's accident scene from Mohali but instead of Aakash, you were there and I kept running and running, but that steel container fell on you and I couldn't save you, it was just so bad..", she said shutting her eyes and crying, her breathing was heavy.
"Do you want to go and lie in bed for a while? That would be relaxing.", He suggested.
"I tried to come back to you and maybe hug you back to sleep but I couldn't get up. I just couldn't bring myself to it.", she replied burying her face in the crook of his neck.
"Okay, will lift you up and take you to bed. Okay?", he asked trying to pick her up and she nodded.
He slowly picked her up and carefully tucked her in the bed, he started some slow soothing music on the Bluetooth speakers and quickly disappeared in the kitchen for a minute. Meanwhile, Keya tried to lie down and concentrate on the music.
Aarav came in with two mugs of hot chocolate, he handed one to Keya and sat beside her on the bed and slowly started patting her head and rubbing her fingers which calmed her after 10 minutes.
On Rachel's advice, Aarav took the caretaker's counselling sessions before their marriage, he generally didn't have to use them except once or twice, Keya was alright, just that she had nightmares sometimes, and he had to manage those.
"Thank you for sticking with me, Aarav.", she said cuddling up next to him.
"Always by your side, don't worry Keya, nothing will happen to you or me.", he said kissing her.
Sometimes the random few minutes of fights you start,
End in the most beautiful forever...
