No hope for love

Midnight

It was Midnight and Dantalion was awaking up from his deep slumber he had been asleep for thousands of years "Finally" He said a low growl in his voice "I am free from this death like slumber I must feast on the souls of the living" he said vanishing. Kore was woken up to the sound of glass breaking he sat up looking around "H-Hello...is anyone t-there?" he stuttered "Hello mortal" a voice growled and Kore felt sick to his stomach "W-Who the hell are you?!" Kore manged to choke out "I am the darkness that lurks inside your mind" the demon replied and Kore passed out. He woke up in a dark room full of monsters, he walked over to the first one "w-who are you? where am I?" he asked the monster smelled like death and sadness "I.....am...s-self-denial" the monster wheezed "I am e-everything you have b-blocked out....e-every joy you have denied yourself ...I am more h-human...than you w-will ever be..." Kore backed away from the monster and came face to face with another "w-who...." his words died when the monster spoke in a harsh voice "I am panic.....oh god....no no no...I failed him....you failed me Kore....and now.....we must...pay" the monster said angrily, Kore was close to tears when another spoke up "I am reclusion" the creature gasped "I am everything you ran from....everything unpleasant thing shoved back inside....they can't climb my walls...can't find what I've stored in this shell....but you can..." the monster told Kore the creature behind him whimpered "I am paranoia THERE! D-do you see them?...every fabricated lie ..t-they all swarm around my head...ceaselessly ..w-why won't they leave me be?! m-make them leave Kore... Please" the thing sobbed, at this point Kore was in tears "I-I don't know how to help you" he cried "thats because you are worthless" a beast chimed in " I am self loathing I am your years of hateful blame that have left me a mangled wretch you do not deserve to leave this place Kore you should die here" the beast spat out, Kore backed away and bumped into a mirror where he saw Dantalion "w-where the fuck am I?" Kore asked "why are you doing this to me?" Dantalion just laughed at Kore's sadness "So..we finaly meet you've finaly mustered up the courage to crawl through your filthy mind and find me" the demon said "You are pathetic, don't you know what's going on here? Are you to stupid to figure it out? Or perhaps you don't want to, you must like squirming in the dark like a maggot to have spent so much time in this place...my place don't you realize? these are your thoughts, your memories, your guilts and your obsessions ...and they all hate you! They hate you for what you've done! they keep you chained here to make you pay for the suffering they've endured" Dantalion glared at Kore, his gaze full of hate "But that's not all is it? your brother is dead because of you, you let him die because you weren't watching...soon you will suffer the same fate you floundered in your guilt and anger and let yourself rot, every chance at a life worth living, gone your afraid to be alone with your thoughts, so you try to drown them what you don't realize, though....those voices that you've tried so hard to block, will scream more and more loudly, scream until your ears bleed! So just keep covering your ears, Kore because one day soon you might sink so deep, you'll never hear anything agai-" Dantalion was cut off by Kore "No stop, stop it! Just shut up! I don't want to hear it anymore! You don't rule me! I don't have to live like this...I don't have to live like..." Kore stopped as he realised what the demon meant "I don't have to live like you..." as soon as he said that the mirror shattered into millions of pieces. Kore woke up in yet another dark room but this time he recognised it it was his room but different and there was another demon standing next to his bed "well well well it has been some time" Andrealphus said as Kore ran across the room to get away from him "There's no need to be frightened, dear one" Andrealphus told Kore "This place is safe I am not here to harm you" he smiled at Kore "It's so good to see you again. How dose it feel to be back amongst your thoughts? this place has changed much in time...as you can see dear Kore the place has gone to the dogs"Andrealphus laughed softly "Do you remember how it was before the darkness? Do you remember how it used to be, before your brother passed? You were oh so little...and you used to visit us all the time" he smiled sadly "We were your best friends don't you see Kore? We are you we loved you once...and some of us still do...but some of us are terribly confused, and frightened that phantom in the mirror that calls himself you he's been keeping you from the truth with his vicious lies without you this darkness....this darkness suffocates us it has warped us into something you can hardly recognise, something monstrous but we're still yours dear Kore and we long for the light that warm light that shone every day...back when you used to love us.."Andrealphus looked at the ground sadly and Kore started feeling guilty "back when you used to love you...what are you doing Kore? Why is it so dark? You know what you need to do. You need to forgive yourself. You need to forgive yourself for what you've done, and to forgive those that have hurt you. Only then can you live your life fully until then we'll remain here...crying for the warmth of the light" Andrealphus finished tears escaping him Kore walked over to the demon "It will be ok I'll try to save you....I promise" Kore told him wiping a tear from the demons cheek "Thank you Kore" he smiled. Kore woke up in his room "don't worry I'll do my best to save you" he said to all the monsters and they disappeared, Andrealphus smiled at him and mouthed thank you.
