Celene starts her day as such as any 15-year-old highschooler. She yawns in bed, her mom calls her for breakfast, her father out in the front yard mowing the lawn. Celene was a good girl with an average life, she went to a public school, had a good amount of friends and status. Things were going great until the end of school. She goes home and says goodbye to her friends, as she goes into her house she immediately ate dinner with her family then went straight up to her room to work on her studies. As she finishes, Celene goes to bed then rests. As time seems to fly by, Celene wakes up in the early morning.
Celene then looks around the room with her weary eyes, as her eyes rest on her phone, she grabs it then goes on through her social media.
As Celene scrolls down her phone, her attention catches a particular Instablog post.
"ITS THE MAN U CAN SEE IN NIGHT VISION, TRY IT!! (not a joke)"
She scrolls down past this post and continues for a couple of minutes. Celene gets bored as she sees similar posts on Instablog. That post crawls back into her thoughts like a spider. She considers it for a moment then after arguing front and back with herself, she finally gives in to the thought and downloads the night vision app. She waits for the app to download then tries funny selfies till she turns the camera to the front. There, she sees a light figure standing in front of her bed. Her heart drops, fear then suddenly overwhelms her. She jerks away from the camera and turns on the lights immediately. No one is in the room but her. Celene asks
Celene: Who's there?!
Her voice was stuttering, her heartbeat fasts like someone running a marathon, as the silence adds more fear and paranoia into her mind. She then builds up the courage to check her closet, out her window, and even under her bed. She did not find anything. Celene goes back to bed then tries to sleep even though this horrific event kept her from even keeping her eyes shut.
(Next Morning)
As sunlight seeps inside her room. She barely forgot about what happened that night. She thinks back to what the figure was. Was it a Man? An animal? or worse. She goes through her morning like as it was, but only this time. She's stuck with the tension that filled her mind and the fear that's instilled in her emotions of what could've happened. The question of why and what scares her. Her Mom asks.
Mom: What's wrong sweetie?
Celene: Nothing... I just saw something last night.
Father: *Eagerly listens*
Mom: What did you see?
Celene: I saw a figure standing in front of my bed. Just standing there. I barely slept at night.
Father: I'll call the police and see what they can find.
As the police came, they searched the peak and foot of the house. The yard, her room, and the backyard. As this effort goes on, their hunt resulted in nothing. Celene knew what she saw wasn't normal, as of though in disbelief that they would've found something.
Mom: You probably just had a nightmare sweetie. Try to rest okay?
Celene didn't even think of what time it was when she saw it. Though even thinking about it frightens her, she knew it was real, was it not? These thoughts echoed through the back of her mind. On the bus. In the classroom. In the house. As the sun slips into darkness. Celene could not feel at ease, as if something troubles her. When she enters her room. She feels this grip around her heart. The weight that's crushing her body, making her feet stuck to the ground. The feeling of dread. She snaps back into herself and tries to study, tentatively looking back at her shoulder, wondering if something was there. After studying she immediately goes to bed and tries to slumber. After the time has gone by, her phone emits a light, a message that rings through her notification. Celene wakes up to see this light, only this was like a light at the end of the tunnel, which something evil lies upon. She receives an anonymous message. It's from her own contacts, but she doesn't remember giving anyone her number, nor bringing her phone to school. Even seeing it, even thinking about it gives her goosebumps. As her eyes loom over the screen. She sees the message.
Anonymous: Use the app
Anonymous: You will see it again
She perceives this message if it was some sort of prank, or something much worse. She swipes the message to ignore it, barely with a steady hand. Scarcely a minute pass, another message pops through her phone. She sees the message, then her heart drops like an anchor. Sweats raining on her head. She feels dizzy and nauseous as she was about to puke. The message contained a picture of her house.
Anonymous:
Anonymous: You WILL see it
Celene immediately looks out her window, checking left and right with teary eyes as she fears for her life. She sees nothing but only a distorted silhouette. She looks in awe as if she was dreaming or experiencing a nightmare. She kept saying "Wake up, wake up, wake up." Only to be faced with the reality of horror in front of her. She remembers the night vision app as she thought it will be useful to see the person. She quickly grabs her phone then opens the camera. She sees not only the menace but people. Like a party gathered right at her house waiting to get in. She watches in terror, till she remembers the thing she saw in her room. Celene faces the phone behind her then she sees what she hoped not to perceive. The configuration of shadows inside her room. She drops the phone while the echoes of her screams go out into the empty night.
