Y/n's POV:

I was surprised to see Draco act so kind to me after I told him off. Honestly it didn't make sense, it was weird not having Draco bully me. Did my words really affect him that much?

After he practically did my essay for me at the library, we both spent more time there. After dinner, we would both meet up in the table towards the back. He would always help me with my potions assignments, which I was grateful he did. I didn't realize how intelligent he was. I always believed he was just a dumb bully, but man was I wrong.

"Alright, let's see here." He grabbed my paper reading the essay. I watched his lips form a smirk, "Looks like being with me made you better at potions." He told me. I laughed at his comment, "I'm not going to deny, your help has improved my potions knowledge." I told him truthfully.

We both began to pack our belongings, "I'll see you again tomorrow, right?" I asked him and he nodded smiling at his bag. "You can help me with our Magical Creatures essay, since you are good at the subject." I nodded my head, "Okay, see you tomorrow Draco. Thank you again!" I flashed him a huge smile and he returned a small smile.

I walked out of the library and into the common room, seeing the trio sitting down with many papers on the floor.

"Bloody hell Y/n, where were you?" Ron asked while looked at his papers in frustration. "I was at the library, why?" Harry sighed, "You should have told us, we all could have worked on our potion essay together."

I felt bad not telling them about studying with Draco. I knew if I did, they would certainly be mad or act if I was crazy for even talking to him. I guess it was the same for Draco, both of us never really told our friends we started to hang out. It was kind of excited, having to keep our "friendship" a secret.

"My essay isn't that good, all of you know I suck at potions." I laughed making Harry agree. Hermione nudged his side making him whine, "What she said it herself? I was just agreeing!" Hermione rolled her eyes and sighed, "Can you try to help us?" I nodded, but I knew I wasn't going to be help since Draco did do my essay.

I reached into my bag and brought out the paper and handed it to them. Harry began to read, "That makes so much sense! I thought you said you weren't good?" He asked me and I scratched the back of my neck nervously. "I've just had some help, I guess I've improved?" Hermione looked at me like I was hiding something, I looked away quickly sitting down next to Harry.

I woke up changing into my uniform and putting on my robe. I brushed the ends of my hair and walked down to the Great Hall to have breakfast. I sat with Hermione and served myself some oatmeal with a side of fruit. We had small talk about our classes, but honestly I wasn't really listening. It wasn't cause I didn't like Hermione, I love her. Every time I looked up from the table, Draco and I would always make eye contact and I would begin to blush. Who am I, blushing over him? I guess he took notice because he smirked at me, making me turn back my attention to Hermione.

We both walked into Potions, I sat with Hermione and each of us took out our essay for Snape to collect. Class was normal as always, I wanted to fall asleep or stab my eyes out. No words could explain how much I disliked Potions, maybe because Snape's voice was so mono-tone it always made me bored?

"Y/n," Hermione whispered at me. I got up from laying my head on the desk to look at her. "I think Malfoy is plotting something against you." I looked at her confused, "What do you mean?" She leaned it trying not to be loud or have us get in trouble, "He keeps looking at you, it's quite weird." I turned around slightly catching his eye. He smiled at me quickly and gave Hermione a glare. I rolled my eyes at him and turned back to her, "Maybe he's going to finally get back at me?" I joked and she narrowed her eyes trying to figure me out.

She probably knows Draco and I are friends, I suck at hiding things. She's been suspicious about me for a while, it wouldn't take long for her to find out. Maybe I should tell her, so she won't be as mad?

Classes had finally ended and I looked forward to meeting up with Draco. Even if he was just helping me out of pity, he was great to hang out with.

I sat in the same table as we always did. I brought out some candies for us to enjoy and waited. I brought out the potions textbook and began to skim it.

"Hey." Draco greeted me, while grabbing a piece of candy. I smiled at him, "Hello." He brought out his book as well and sat next to me, our knees and feet constantly brushing against each other.

Author's POV:

They continued to read, both stealing glances from each other every now and then. "Draco?" Y/n asked making him look up, "Hmm?" Y/n began to fidget with the book, Draco took notice of her nervousness and smirked. "I was wondering when we could tell people we are friends? You see I hate hiding things from my friends and I'd rather tell them now then have them get mad if they find out. I also think Hermione is getting suspicious, she think I'm good at potions now!" Y/n laughed trying to avoid eye contact with him because she was nervous. "I'll do you one better," He leaned closer to her with his elbow on the table, while his had was resting in his hand. Y/n looked over at him with furrowed eyebrows. "You can tell them you're my girlfriend." Y/n laughed, but stopped when she noticed Draco was being dead serious. "Wait, really?" She slightly blushed and he nodded smirking. "Yes really, you're so oblivious." He told her making her role her eyes. "This isn't some joke, right? You're being serious?" She asked him making bun chuckle, "Merlin Y/n, yes I'm being serious. I want you to be my girlfriend, what do you say?" She gave him a huge smile, "Yeah! I'd like that." Draco smirked feeling accomplished, "Great now go and tell your friends about me, we don't have to hide anymore."

Draco watched as she got up excitedly, speed walking to her friends. He felt happy seeing her act this way over him. He was happy he finally found someone who made him feel something he thought he'd never feel. He loved that she didn't let herself be talked down on, especially by him. He admired her courage and the way she cared for others. He couldn't believe it took Y/n saying mean things back to realize what his true feelings were.
