Internship. It can either make you or break you. Even though it's causing you to build a good resume and your connections in advance of your career, it's definitely breaking your mental state right this moment, bit by bit. Your alarm went off at 5 in the morning, an ungodly hour that would have anyone turning over in their beds once more. By the time you were finally home, it would already be passed eight in the evening, which pretty much would explain why you seemed to be a regular at the coffee machine at your office.
Before, you used to think sitcoms with office settings and those typical scenes at the water cooler were just exaggerations for comedic effect, but seeing how you unconsciously searched out for the comforting buzz of the hardworking machines, you realized it wasn't even in the slightest bit.
So you found yourself leaning against one of the standing tables in the pantry, the colour of the tables holding an apple green and contrasting against the white and sterile look of the rest of your particular floor. Hands just barely being able to rest around your cup, you eyed your co-worker with envy seeing how he was able to rest his own elbows comfortably on the surface. He was a good feet taller then you were, always making you feel small despite his somewhat lanky appearance.
"..And then we'll have that meeting at three. I still need to work on that assessment for that uhm.. uhmm.. that company that sells every damn thing you can imagine.. Help me here." You let out a breathy laugh, averting your eyes to your cup for a moment before looking back up to him.
"You mean Target?" You responded, amusement laced in your voice. His expression brightened up, smile playing on his tanned complexion.
"Yeah that's the one. Wait, aren't you semi in charge of that?" You sighed and rubbed your temple. Even though he does his work and it has a high quality, the attention span of the man made it hard for him to remember his cases without the company's notifying system. He's still a mystery to you and why he got hired in the first place, but his more than bright personality made up for it.
".. I gave you that assignment, Hakyeon-sshi." He smiled a cheesy grin, his eyes crinkling up into two crescent moons adorably.
"Ahh that's right. It's still amazing how they made you an under support in that account. Not many interns can do such a good job and get clients like that on that scale." You smiled shyly and eyed your coffee once again, playing with the white carton cup to avoid locking your gaze with him.
"It's because of my dad and that he's high ranked in one of our client's company that I got this position anyways.." He made a disagreeing noise and pushed your arm, although not hard enough for it to hurt.
"Come on, you wouldn't be doing all these things if you weren't capable enough. If you wouldn't have the talent to do everything they assign you to, than the only thing you'd be doing is changing the paper in the printer."
"Okay, you do have a point there." He smiled and wrapped one arm around you to give you a semi hug for a brief moment before letting go of you again. In your few weeks of internship, he has been a big support to you and never got bothered by you being the one to "boss him around". He knew that the orders you gave him were ones he would've gotten from the main salesman in charge which you were both supporting and it was a big relief as well as a big time saver that he was so accepting and down to earth on that matter. A lot of men around the office could take a good example from him, but you didn't feel like it was your place to correct them about it.
