I'm pushing my grocery cart around, looking for vegan burger patties I want to try when I spot Louis in the fruit aisle. I roll right up to him and bump him with my cart.
"Well if it isn't my boyfriend," I say.
"Hey, guess what?" Louis grins a pleased, proud sort of grin. "I got the role!"
I let out a high-pitched shriek and let go of my cart. "Louis! That's amazing!" I throw my arms around him and jump up and down. I shake his shoulders. "Now, can you tell me about the movie?"
"No. But nice try." He chuckles softly.
I'm honestly so proud of him. A model, pianist, an actor, a+ student, varsity, and a best friend. I gotta admit, he is perfect. Toni's so lucky to have him, every second, every minute and hour of the day.
Shyly he asks, "Treat me a milkshake later?"
"Tonight?"
"Tonight."
I hug him for the last time. "I'm so proud of you."
I lift my hand for a high five and he smacks it. I can't believe it―Louis' gonna be a huge actor soon. Who knows? He might win an Emmy award for the best actor soon.
"I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to come with you." I begin.
"We had our computer presentation that day."
A smile spreads across his face, that slow smile that always tells me that; "everything is okay".
"It's fine."
