Song-Payphone by Maroon5

It's finally Saturday

George sinks into his warm bed and sighs contently. It's been a week of constant torture from his new school, with people throwing him side glances or finding his phone number and calling him British slurs. He refuses to tell anyone about it though, because he doesn't want to bring his problems upon other people.

His alarms goes off, pulling him out of his sleep. He slams his hand in the clock and knocks it off the side table, groaning and shoving his head under his pillows.

"Too early.."

He mumbles, pulling his covers tighter around him. Right as he was about to fall back sleep, his bedroom door slams open and fills his room with bright light from the hallway.

"Georrrrrge time to wake up! We've got a long day today!"

Olivia flips the light switch on and opens his curtains, taking a short look outside.

"Olivia it's barely 8 am.."

He groans and throws his pillow at her, smacking her right in the face. She gasps dramatically and clutches her head with a pouty face.

"Somebody's grouchy this morning. Cmon, Clays birthday party is tomorrow and Nick needs our help getting decorations and setting up. DONT TELL CLAY THOUGH. ITS A SURPRISE!"

George mumbles something and leans up, clutching the blanket around his shoulders and saying in a low voice,

"Olivia, if you don't get out of my room in five seconds, I will put a snake in your bed tonight and lock you in your room."

Olivia presses her lips together, nods her head, and points towards the bedroom door.

"I'll just see you in ten I guess-"

She slips out of his room and bolts down the stairs, her blond hair flying the hind her. George yawns and stands up, his feet hitting the cold floor. He walks to his closet and grabs a teal hoodie, blue jeans, and black sneakers to wear for the day. After he finally gets dressed, he heads to the hallway bathroom and attempts to combs his dark brown hair back, but it just falls over his forehead and springs out cutely in different directions. He brushes his teeth and heads downstairs to meet Olivia. She's in the kitchen happily eating a strawberry pop tart while watching TikToks on her phone. He suddenly has a devious plan to scare her for waking him up early this morning.

He sneaks behind her, practically tiptoeing on the hardwood, and stands directly behind her. He grabs her shoulders and yells out, making her jump and nearly drop her phone.

"GAH- GEORGE YOU DICK HEAD YOU SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!"

He bursts out laughing and dodges an incoming punch from her.

"I'm sorry Liv! That's what you get for waking me up early!"

She chases him around the kitchen counter and glares daggers at his eyes. Her phone starts ringing, and George throws his hands up in success, mouthing the words,

I won bitch

She answers the phone and rolls his eyes at George,

"Yeah Nick? I didn't realize you were out front."

George hears Nick say something and Olivia grabs her bag off the kitchen table, gesturing towards George to follow her.

"Sorry! George distracted me from watching for you!"

George scoffs I'm a defensive tone as the head out the front door.

"I did not distract you! You nearly killed me inside!"

Olivia hangs up on Nick and hops in the front seat of his car. George hops in the back and Olivia continues the argument, determined to win.

"You deserved it! You almost made me brake my phone!"

Nick awkwardly looks between the two arguing seventeen year olds and clears his throat.

"Alright ladies where should we head first?"

Olivia pulls out a piece of paper and points at a store with a list underneath it.

"We can start here and work our way down the lost. We should be back by dinner IF everybody cooperates"

She throws George a side glance and he rolls his eyes. Nick turns on the radio and plays the song Payphone by Maroon5 and taps his fingers on the steering wheel like drums.

"We should get you a drum set for your birthday Nick"

He nods his head along with the beat and pulls out of the driveway, mouthing the words of the song. George smiles and watches as Nick and Olivia both jam out to the music and go crazy up front. He looks out the window and listens to the music, watching as people he's seen from school jog and bike along the sidewalk.

"George those are YELLOW balloons we need GREEN balloons! Not the ugly green, but the lime green color!"

Olivia hands the bag of balloons back to George who raises his eyesbrows and hands them back to her.

"Dude I'm colorblind! I've never seen the color green!"

She presses her lips together and clears her throat,

"Yeah my bad. Can you grab the smiley face stickers? They can be any color so.."

She slips past him and heads towards the balloons.   George watches as Nick buys streamers from the lady at the front desk and heads back to Olivia. George makes his way to the stickers and pulls 10 packs of them off the racks.

I hope these are good colors-

He smirks to himself and brings them over to Olivia who takes them and hands them to Nick.

"Nicky will you go buy these..? Pweaseeeee~"

She pouts at him and he reluctantly goes back to the counter and pays for the stickers.

"You like him~"

George taunts Olivia, poking her on the shoulder. She glared at him and grabs his finger, threatening to break it on the spot.

"Say that again I dare you"

Nick walks back to them before George has a chance to respond and raises his eyebrows in a question way at the two.

"Did I miss something?"

George nervously clears his throat and Olivia releases his finger, smiling innocently at her friend.

"Nope! Just sibling things"

Nick shrugs and the three head back to his car, throwing the supplies on the seat next to George.

"Alright, next we need to order a cake. Clay doesn't like big things, so we'll just ask for something simple. We can pick it up and hour before the party and set it up then."

Nick starts the car and heads towards the direction of the bakery.
