"Without him, I wouldn't be able to get close to the clouds."
"And without you he wouldn't be able to come back down. I get that."
"Do you guys have to watch him doing the same routine every single day?" Echo snaps, clearly growing wary from the number of times she's listened to the same articulate pattern repeat itself.
Listening to Colin repeat the poem that I believe is keeping him sane amongst the isolation, I sink my hands further into my hair hovering over the tablet as it begins grating on me too "Nobody's asked you to listen Echo." I feel her glare on me for another long moment before informing us she's going back out on watch with Hope.
Ignoring the lingering judgment of Gabriel in the air I refocus on the footage settled between us. Colin's ship crashed on SkyRing. His entire mission team was wiped out- all but him. Silently I've watched him locate the stone and hook up a stethoscope to its matter. The theory Colin's spent his time working off is that the symbols pressed in the correct sequential order give off vibrations. Still, the sequence will take millions of possibilities however the genius of his plan isn't lost on me. The measure the vibrations and work out which symbol correlates to which planet. It's quite captivating to watch... the first time. Now Gabriel and I are knee deep is trying to find answers.
"Why're you so mean to her?" Leaving Colin to make another unimportant attempt at the stone, I drag up my stare to Gabriel through hooded eyes. My hands remaining tiredly tangled in my hair I can easily imagine how the look I gave came across as Gabriel backtracks "Seems like a lot of bad blood." A small chuckle falling over Colin's rambled broken poetry, Gabriel mutters "I mean all of you seem to have that in common with each other."
"Gabriel I like you", I murmur to him, dropping my stare back to the tablet "But let's not push it."
Gabriel doesn't seem to understand that I want the topic dropped, "Echo and Bellamy had been together... but then you re-entered the picture?"
"Right after he and Clarke dug me up from the rubble that had coated the Second Dawn bunker", I hum over Colin, swearing defeatedly when he gets yet another sequence wrong. Lifting my gaze I notice Gabriel leaned back in his chair. Observing me with a distinctive amount of curiosity. We seem to have that quality in common. Sheer nosiness. Rolling my shoulders back a little, I defensively push "You trying to call me a homewrecker?"
