"Why you looking at me like that?" I asked confused.
"Who is she?" Dad asked smirking at me.
I shook my head. I was currently at Dad's since we were having family time, but I decided to come early to talk.
"Remember Faith..." I drifted off.
His eyes widened.
"Ooo damn son, I mean she nice can't lie but what is Chantelle gonna think?"
I shrugged.
"What is there to think? She's moved on and I've moved on"
"But Faith was someone who somewhat has a part in why you and Chantelle didn't work out"
I wiped my hand down my face.
"I get that but we all adults, plus me and Faith on taking baby steps, she's cool and she really cares for me"
Dad smiled slightly.
"I haven't heard you talk like this since you was younger"
I chuckled.
"For real, she always cooks a nigga food, brings it to work just so I wouldn't have to cook dinner, she asks about the kids and there was a time I was in a meeting till late so she offered to get Riley for me, she's a real cool girl dad"
"Shit son if you happy I'm happy too, but last question..."
"What's that?"
"What about the baby?"
"What about it? When its here we can goon from there and plus Faith already let me know she's still down to ride weather the baby mine or not"
He looked impressed.
"She sounds like a keeper"
"Mhmm, you will be meeting her tonight..." I drifted off. "I mean if that's cool with you and mum"
"Today is family dad, that includes any new faces that are in the picture" He said sipping his drink.
"What you two talking about?" Mum asked waltzing in the kitchen with Rj and Raymond carrying loads of bags.
"Hey dad, I gotta ask you something" Rj said.
"Go on" I said raising my eyebrow.
"Can I stay at auntie Ro's house with Ray tonight?"
I chuckled.
"Here's me thinking you was gonna ask me something crazy, long as your auntie said its okay you can do as you please, but remember we going out tomorrow so ima have to pick you up at a decent time"
He nodded smiling putting the bags down.
"Thanks dad" He said dapping me before walking off with Ray.
"You gonna answer my question now?" Mum said with one eyebrow raised.
"What's that mum?"
"What are you and your old man talking about?"
Just as I was gonna say something there was more voices. I smiled jumping off the stool.
"Maybe next time mum" I chuckled helping dad unpack the bags.

I was taken back a little from her sudden outburst.
