Chapter 6A - fun and games &Chapter 6B - an explanation of one's past.

Onyx woke up to see a text from aqua asking if 'are you having fun there?' she responded with 'you have no idea.' She gave a week giggle when Gwen and Danny ran in to the room bursting the door open. "getup, it's time for us go." Danny said starling onyx. "give me 5 minutes." Onyx said wanting to get out of her PJ's "all right but you need to get in the car in 10, or else where leaving you here." Gwen said, "oh no, I'll be alone in a mansion, how will I entertain myself." Onyx said sarcastically and Gwen threw an apple near her and she grabbed it in the air in the grey glow.

She got up, changed out of her PJ's to her hoodie. She went out of the room and got into the car with Danny, Gwen, her parents and herself. "where's your mom?" Gwen asked, "a few of the parents are staying behind." Jill explained as they sped off. "so, where are we going anyway?" Gwen asked keeping her focus on the game they were playing as onyx was still beating her and Danny, even though they were on a team against her alone. "it's laser tag." David explained as they pulled into the car park. Everybody got out of the car and headed into the centre. In the lobby the rules where explained to them and seeing as how their where 20 kids there, there would be 4 teams of 5. So, while there, Danny, Gwen and onyx teamed up with pearl and Jake.

"all right, let's do this." Onyx said grabbing her chest plate and her laser gun. "we need a plan." Pearl said while onyx was ready to wing it. "you're right, so Gwen and Jake your together, pearl and onyx you're a team and I'm going on my own. Now GO GO GO!" he yelled as the door opened and they entered the battle ground. While peal was hiding behind every corner she could find, onyx was going fast and loose. "what are you doing?" pearl asked from behind a corner of the arena. "you're thinking of this like a battle ground, it's just a game. Let it go and just enjoy yourself." Onyx responded as she runs around shooting some of the other kids and teens.

"does she ever listen?" she asked Gwen as she ran by. "not really?" Gwen responded as she tried to avoid the shots. It eventually came down to only three people surviving and the two super powered girls made short work of third wheel and they thought they had won until a disembodied voice called out from the speakers. "it has come down to our two final opponents, only one will win." He two girls looked at each other and onyx made a brake for cover. "it's over now zirconia. Come out, come out from wherever you are." Peal called out from walking around the arena. Onyx hid and ran around in the darkness having the advantage.

Pearl was already making herself a target, she was also a bright white with light blue hair however onyx was already a dark grey, was wearing grey and she was being sneaky. In a moment that felt like it lasted for forever, she took a shot and hit pearl. She felt like she had just accomplished a grate achievement, whereas pearl hated the fact that she lost. She tried to hide it her best but, she was entering her heightened state. "are you all right pearl?" onyx asked seeing pearl enter her heightened state. "what's happening to me?" pearl asked as onyx got a call on her phone from Gwen. 'have you seen outside, theirs a massive storm coming.' Gwen informed onyx 'weren't you just talking about how nice the weather was half an hour ago?' 'yes, and it was just 2 minutes ago.' Onyx looked over at peal who was on her hands and knees facing down and crying.

"pearl you need to calm down and tell me what's wrong." Onyx explained. "it's fine." Pearl responded. "I get it, you've been taken away from your home and forced into an environment where you have no control. It's ok to be confused and scared." Onyx said using her own experiences to try and comfort pearl. "it's not that, I was meant to win. If the old king ever found out I failed, then he would kill me from beyond the grave." Pearl shouted while crying. Onyx could see through the cracks in the walls of the failing laser tag business. Onyx saw that pearl wasn't calming down any time soon, so she took the core off pearl's hand and she cleared up the weather.

As she took the core, she gained a white gradient to her that made her a lighter shade of grey. She walked back over to pearl, took the core of off her right hand and she placed it on the floor. Without her core pearl had dark brown hair and had a similar skin tone as herself and aqua without the core. She wondered if it was coincidence, but she paid that question no mind as she was to focus on pearl. "what are you saying? Do you want to explain?" she asked, and pearl went into her backstory.

Pearl sat up as she started to explain her past back on in the citadel." I still remember the day you all diapered. It was 6 years ago, I wasn't with you, diamond and the others to look at his invention as I was with my friend and future boyfriend, pyrite, when we both heard a loud bang coming from his laboratory. We ran to the lab to see a massive, wrecked machine and 5 scorched spots on the ground. It was heart wrenching because both of us knew what it meant and we both took it harsh. He may not have known granite or ruby all too well, but he knew you as my best friend and aqua always looked after us. "

Onyx looked on and got herself comfortable and got ready to continue to listen. "after that the king made me become the personal bodyguard of pyrite. He turned me into a warrior, but I knew he was keeping things to himself and 2 years later the king was taken out by assassins from the wilting woods. It was horrible for pyrite, but I had to be strong as it was what was expected of me. A few more months later pyrite, who had become the king since his dad's passing, gave permission for the scientists to look around diamonds lab. They found a few blueprints and they took some readings from the machine and they could find that there was signature." Pearl stopped for the minute to look at her suit's screen where she was looking at pictures.

"from the blueprints they were able to make my suit and it has many features but the most important one was a communicator that I could use to talk to him from anywhere in the world. The only issue was that they took the prototype blueprints for an interdimensional communicator and I still have the only prototype because a few months ago the scientist gave me it to transport to an off sight location but while on my was out I saw something on the backside of a building. Through it I saw you and diamond, and you know the rest." Pearl finished up by giving onyx the prototype of the communicator.

"I'm so sorry." Onyx tried to comfort pearl, but pearl responded "that did feel good to explained everything. Anyway, you know why I don't want to talk to the other's yet. I'm just not ready for it, I don't think I was ready to see you and I broke down." "you've got a lot of stress and I get that you need to cool off, so do I, but we can't let that keep us down." Pearl looked over at onyx and wiped the tear in her eye. "this is a chance for you to explore yourself and find out who pearl is, it seems like you don't know yourself." Onyx explained pulling pearl up. "your right." Pearl responded as they left the room and pearl grabbed her core.

"you ready to go?" Gwen asked "yeah." Onyx responded being worn down from everything she had just discovered. She stumbled into the car and she fell in and out of consciousness when jill got a call. Onyx couldn't hear anything as she could only here ringing but when they stopped, she could see where the call came from. "welcome home, onyx." Aqua said upon their arrival. Onyx stepped out of the car and walked inside. She saw aqua thank Gwen's parents for taking care of onyx and they tried to play it off. She walked into the blank canvas of her room where she collapsed on the only piece of furniture in the room, her bed.
