Skylar was sitting at the dining room table and watching Philo eat. He was relaxed and smiled all the time while reading the paper, but she felt like he was keeping something from her. He was attuned to her every emotion, and she read him like an open book too, she knew something was on his mind.

She had gotten the feeling the morning after they had sex, but she had ignored it, thinking she was being emotional. It had been almost two weeks and she still got the feeling, and it annoyed her.

"Philo, what's going on?"

"What do you mean, kuralino?"

"You're thinking something that you're not telling me."

He put down the paper and sent her a suspicious glance. "How did you know?"

"Same way you know when I'm not telling you everything. I know you." Skylar shrugged the same way he did when he called her out on something.

That made him laugh nervously which made her anxious. It could not be good if he kept something from her. "Out with it."

"It's nothing, Sky," Philo said and waved her off dismissively.

"It's something. Tell me."

"You know I'm happy to be with you and the sex is incredible, right?"

Her heart sank. That was not a good start. A horrifying thought entered her mind. "Do you want a divorce?"

"Jesus, no, Skylar! How can you even ask that?" He stood up and stopped like he did not know what to do. "I've just been wondering why that Wednesday? What did you do, or I do, that made you ready that day?"

Skylar nearly dropped her jaw. "That's what's been bothering you?"

Of all the stupid things he could be obsessing about...

"Yes. I'm afraid you felt I pressured you. I tried to be patient, but I wanted you so bad I might have given off some vibes that made you do something you weren't ready for." Philo walked over to the window and blindly stared outside. "I've not made you orgasm yet, and I'm scared that it's because you weren't ready when you said yes to me."

It was not something he liked to admit, his own failure to provide his wife with satisfaction when she gave him in spades. He wanted to return the favor, make her feel good, show her he was willing to do anything to giver her that high. If he had pushed her into something that now blocked her from enjoying being with him, he would never forgive himself. Yes, it was ego, definitely, what man did not want the satisfaction of knowing he could make his wife feel good? But to him it meant even more because Skylar had been through so much, she deserved to feel plasure.

"I don't even know what to get angry with you for first here," Skylar said in a harsh tone. "I need you to listen carefully, Alistair, because I'm saying this once and then we archive it."

"Sky..."

"No, you listen to me."

There was no point in arguing with her. Skylar was pissed and Philo felt it.

"I'm listening."

"I've wanted you for a long time, for Christ's sake I married you because I wanted you. I wanted you on our wedding night and every day after that, but I was so afraid that I wouldn't be able to please you that I needed to find the courage to be confident. It took a conversation with Octavia to make me realize that you gave me courage."

Philo got even more confused when she brough Octavia into the conversation. "I don't understand what Octavia has to do with it?"

"She asked me how to tell Reki that she was a virgin, but she wanted him. I told her that if she loved him and trusted that he loved her, then he would be accepting and protect her as they went along. I realized that I needed to take my own advice."
