It all started with a mistake. A mistake two people were making.
Tamaki was going through his same usual routine of walking down the hall with his head down, trying his hardest not to make eye contact with anyone, while you were looking around, attempting to find your way to the front office, searching for signs, or anyone to help. Neither of you were paying attention to your surroundings. And of course, it was inevitable.
The two of you collided with each other.
The impact wasn't that painful, probably just a rough head bump at most, but you, being the clutz you are, tripped over yourself and fell back onto your behind, causing your belongings to scatter everywhere.
"Ugh," You muttered, rubbing the red mark on your forehead where you collided, then looking up at the person you knocked into. He was a boy, with dark navy colored spiky hair, and narrow feline-like eyes. His face went red at the brief eye contact, and he hung his head so you couldn't see his expression. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to knock into you! Did I hurt you?"
"N-no, I'm okay." He answered in a shaky voice, still refusing to look up at you. Both of you went reached down to start collecting your things, both going for the same book, accidentally touching hands and then pulling away.
"Sorry." You giggled, assuming that this wasn't any big deal. And it wasn't. Well, for you, anyway.
But for Tamaki, that was a completely different story. When your eyes met, his world completely changed.
Pretty. Was the easiest way to describe you, but you were more than that. To him, you were gorgeous, angelic, enchanting, stunning, radiant, and so much more. Having such a presence in front of him was in the least, overwhelming, so he did his best to attempt to keep some sort of composure and not just become a blushing mess.
"Sorry about Tamaki, he's a little shy." A voice from behind the blue-haired teen chimed in. Standing above the two of you was a blonde boy with bright cobalt cartoony-looking eyes and an athletic frame, along with a girl who had long lilac-colored hair, round eyes and was starting at you in a weird way which you guessed was either a glare or a of curiosity.
"No worries." You said, getting to your feet. "Do you guys know where the front office is? I'm new here, and I'm supposed to go there to meet with the Big Three for a tour."
The Big Three were the three best students and athletes in school. All three were on varsity teams, and all three had amazing grades. They were role models the rest of the school followed after.
"Well, you've come to the right place! How funny is that, we were just looking for you!" The yellow haired boy exclaimed with a grin.
"Oh wait, you guys are The Big Three?"
"The one and only."
"Cool! That is pretty funny, too." You agreed happily.
"I'm Mirio, and this is Tamaki." Blondie introduced, putting his arm around the other boy, who was still refusing to look at you.
"And I'm Nejire. The only female counterpart of the big three." She told you, her tone dripping with poison. Not that you really noticed.
"Awesome! I'm (y/n) (l/n)." You smiled, still as cheerful as ever, despite Nejire's attempts of intimidation.
--
Soon enough, the tour started, the trio leading you around the building and showing you the halls and areas.
Mirio seemed like the most talkative and helpful, telling you some facts and history about the different parts of the school while sneaking some crappy puns in there that somehow got a chuckle out of you.
Nejire on the other hand ,would make some snarky remarks which you assumed were just curious questions but were more borderline rude than you'd like to believe.
And Tamaki was just quiet, barely saying anything besides some soft mutters and babbles. He didn't even look in your direction. Or anyone's, for that matter of fact. But little did you know, when you looked away, he would just stare for as long as he could. Trying to get as much as he could see.
"And here we are, the one and only trophy case," Mirio said, gesturing to the huge glass case.
"Woah." You muttered, pressing up against the transparent wall and staring at all the trophies inside. There were tons, at least seventy, some dating back to thirty years ago. "Are some of these yours?"
"Oh yeah. I'm the captain of the swim team, Tamaki's on the varsity Volleyball team, and Nejire is the captain of the gymnastics team." He explained, pointing out some of the larger trophies that were theirs.
"Wow, that's amazing." You mumbled, still admiring the shiny awards and the glory that came with them.
Some random student started a conversation with Mirio, temporarily pausing the tour. Tamaki turned away and faced the wall, leaving just you and Nejire.
"So, why did you come here, (y/n)? To this school, I mean. Did you get expelled? Were your grades so low you had to drop out?" She questioned.
"Um, no, none of those reasons." You replied, your smile faltering a little.
She's probably just...curious. I'm sure she didn't mean that in a harmful way.
You reassured yourself. "It's just personal stuff."
"Sorry about that, someone just asked me a question. C'mon, let's go!" Mirio grinned, leading you all away.
--
Eventually, the tour was over, and so was the school day. "And that's it! I hope you enjoyed the tour!"
"Yeah, thanks Mirio. I appreciate it." You nodded to him, making his cheeks flush a little.
"It was nothing." He said, rubbing the back of his blonde head
Unlike Tamaki, Mirio was pretty good at hiding his emotions. So when he saw your beautiful face, he managed to have control and keep himself from just scooping you up and stealing you away from this place.
He wanted to feel how smooth and soft your skin looked, and run his hand through your silky (h/c) hair, staring at the strands between his fingers. Your voice, your laughs, were just music to his ears. And god, he wanted to bathe in your scent. Just being near you, he caught a whiff of your rose-scented shampoo. It was...intoxicating. You were intoxicating.
But when you complimented him like that, it was almost too much for him to handle. And he couldn't help but beam with pride.
"It was nice meeting you guys! And Tamaki, if I make you uncomfortable, that's okay. You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to. But I just wanted to let you know that I will do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable around me. That goes for you too, Mirio." You told them. You hated the thought of unknowingly making anyone uncomfortable, so you just wanted to tell them.
After all, you did hear that they would both be in most of your classes.
Saying all you needed to say, you turned around, walking away from the trio, the pair of boys watching dreamily as you left, while Nejire just glared.
This was definitely going to be an interesting school year.
