"I like this one." I said, looking around the small apartment.

It was a decent apartment. It had neutral colors, two bedrooms, one bathroom, a furnished kitchen, and a living room. Plus, laundry service was covered by rent and there was a community pool and gym.

"Me, too. There's a lot of space in here and you have a nice view of the pool." Kayla said.

"Yeah, it's nice. Especially for the price I'm getting them to sell it for." Mrs. Gavens said. "I don't see why you want to buy an apartment when you could always stay with us until you're ready to go to college." [A/N Mrs. Gavens is Kayla's mom, if you don't remember.]

"Mrs. Gavens, I appreciate the offer, but I don't want to impose. You've already done a lot by finding this apartment for me."

"You wouldn't be imposing. I just don't like the idea of you living alone. Does your uncle approve of this?" She asked.

"He doesn't really care about what I do. He knows I'm an adult and that I can make decisions for myself." I said, avoiding the question.

"Jaz! They have jets in the bathtub!" I heard Talia call from the bathroom over the sound of running water.

I rolled my eyes. My friends are children. "Talia, stop messing with the tub before you flood the apartment before I can buy it." I yelled.

"So, do you think this is the one or do want to go look at a few more?" Mrs. Gavens asked.

"No, I think this is the one."

"Okay. I'll let Mr. Wade (the land lord) know and I'll be right back." She said as she left the apartment.

I walked to the first bedroom to wake up Lexi, so she could see the apartment. She had fallen asleep while we were touring the last apartment and we hadn't bothered to wake her up. After leaving the hospital a few days ago, she's been very tired. The doctors told us that it was normal and that she was still recovering, but she would feel better after a while.

"Lexi." I said, shaking her gently. "Wake up."

She mumbled some unintelligible words and slowly opened one eye.

"Wake up, sleepy head."

Lexi yawned and sat up, slowly looking around the room.

"Is this another apar'ment?" She asked carefully. It was still hard for her to talk because of the frostbite on her cheeks. It didn't hurt, but her cheeks were stiff, so it was a little hard for her to talk properly. She started rehab yesterday, so was learning to train the tissues in her face and use her fingers again.

"Yeah, but this is the last one." I carried her off of the bed and took her to the living room.

"Jazlyn, why do you insist on carrying that girl?" Talia asked with an exasperated look on her face.

"Because this is my baby-baby and I luh her." I replied, smothering Lexi's face with kisses. She giggled and squirmed to get away.

"Mhm." Talia said, shaking her head.

"Do you like this apartment, Lexis?"

"Yeah. Theree's a pool." She slurred, pointing at the community pool on the ground floor from the second story apartment.

"Good, because this is going to be our new house next month."

"Really?"

"Yup."
