Novice as I am to poetic creativity,
I am very eager to learn from this activity
To overcome some hardships in the creation of poems
And to be indifferent to any comment about my poem.
Hence I begin this maddening task
Of writing words and making them rhyme.
On the bright side, I have a lot of time.
On the down side, I have a mind that rarely finds its prime
So I cannot help but repeatedly ask
was there a better word option left unmasked?
Words popping in and out of my head now
But I don't mind, that's an expense I can allow
For the sake of my grade, I must endure it somehow
And by the end, I find out that in this kind of literature
The virtue of being patient is a key feature
Also, don't stop jotting down your thoughts and feelings
Because you might find words to break your rhythmic ceilings.
