Quick A/N: So sorry it took me so long to write. I literally have rewritten this chapter 12 times and I still am not completely happy with it. Anywhoos, enjoy!
Chapter 11
Shopping itself had never bothered me, in fact I rather enjoyed it. It was when you threw two four month olds into the mix that it becomes a challange. They continuously were spitting out their pacifiers and then would start to cry when we didn't pick them up quick enough. So I guess if one positive thing came out of the shopping trip, it was that we learned to have multiple pacifiers for each baby.
When we left Babies-R-Us, we drove around town, desperately trying to get Quinn and Sam to fall asleep, but it was hopeless. Instead, we decided to get them out of the car and go into my mom's cafe'. A girl who went to our school was working behind the counter. Our parents had been friends since before either of us were even born. Alice and I were still good friends, but she moved to the other side of town over the summer, so we didn't go to the same school anymore.
"Hey, Alice!" I walked around the counter and gave her a hug. It had been awhile since I had been there to see her. "How have you been?" I asked.
"Not too bad!" She laughed then stopped, scanning the twins in our arms. "Now I have a question, are you just babysitting or do I need to kill your boyfriend?"
"Neither. Alice, this is Quinn and this is Sam," I said motioning to each of the babies who had finally stopped crying. "Mr. Patterson got his way and this year Teen Living is doing Operation: Baby Project. Except, instead of plastic babies, we have real babies."
"Oh, that makes sense, he has been trying to implement that into the school for years." She paused and then turned and pointed to Josh, "You got off easy this time, boy. But next time, don't think I won't hesitate to kill you."
"Aye, aye captain," Josh joked saluting Alice.
We ordered our food and ate it quickly, and shortly thereafter, bid a goodbye to Alice.

To be quite honest, I didn't want to go back to my house for the fear of bumping into Duncan and Josh beating the snot out of him. Not to mention the fact that the babies had fallen asleep and I didn't want to wake them up. But, despite my efforts to stay away, Josh insisted we go over that afternoon.
And it was just as awkward as I thought it would be.
Josh sat next to me on the couch and Duncan sat right across from him on the opposite couch, the two of them in a consistant battle of glaring. And let me fust tell you, if looks could kill, there would be two dead guys in my living room right about now.
Deciding that I had had enough with their annoying glaring contest I went upstairs to see Abigail. "Hey, Abby!" I said when I walked into her bedroom. "Have you missed me?" I asked.
"Charlie! Yes! I missed you, I missed you, I missed you!" She put down her doll and ran over to me, squeezing me with all her might.
"It's only been one day, did you really miss me that much?"
"Yes! I'm all alone with two boys. They are soo obnoxious."
"Obnoxious, yeah? That's a big word for such a little girl. I'm here to tell you, they never get past their obnoxious stage."
"Is Josh obnoxious?" Abby asked.
"Uh, not always, but sometimes he can be."
"Well, Luke is always obnoxious."
"What was that?" I heard Luke's voice from behind me.
"Uh, a differnt Luke. He's in my class," Abigial quickly recovered.
