Getting the house ready didn't take long at all thanks to everyone's magic. Although Hongjoong repeatedly expressed that he wanted to do things the normal way - using their powers was their normal way. Besides, even he had to admit it made life easier.
Once they were settled into the house, it was time to settle into life. A little background on their situation: Hongjoong had grown tired of Hell. He worked under the devil as a torturer. All the death, useless pleading, fire, screaming and even more death had him lulled into a state of apathy. He couldn't care about the smallest bit of life. Not even his own. He felt nearly hollow inside.
It was like that for years till he met Seonghwa. He brought light back into Hongjoong's life. Then when they found San, he felt like the happiest man in the world. In fact, he felt complete. However, after a few years of family leave, eventually, Hongjoong had to go back to work.
He just couldn't go back to that state of emptiness. So he decided to try something new. After lots of discussion, pleading and sex, Seonghwa agreed to move to Earth. He loved his life in Hell, but he loved Hongjoong even more. Seonghwa was going to stick by his side and go on this journey with him.
That didn't mean he wouldn't complain every step of the way though.
"Hongjoong-ah! It's freezing!"
"It's sixty-one degrees. You're fine." Hongjoong handed San a small container as they pulled up to his high school.
"What's this?" The teen asked.
"Contacts." Hongjoong told him. "Put them on before you get to class." San pouted. He liked showing off his bright purple eyes. He thought they were one of his most unique features, and he wanted to stand out while he was here.
"Are you excited?" His other father asked with a smile and San nodded eagerly.
"This is going to be awesome!" He exclaimed. "I've never been so close to humans before! Are they as weird and gross as you say they are, father?" Hongjoong sent his husband a glare, the older suddenly looking very invested in the things outside the window.
Hongjoong turned to look at his son, sighing. "No Sannie, they aren't. Just be careful when you're in there, alright? Now remember, try your best not to use your powers for anything. I mean it. Just blend in for the first few days."
San just rolled his eyes, nodding wordlessly. He said his final goodbyes then jumped out the car with a bright smile. "Joongie," Seonghwa whined. "I'm still cold."
"Hwa I swear to Satan, I will light this car on fire and leave you in it to burn for the rest of eternity if you don't stop."
Entering the school, San glanced down at the small box in his hands. No one had really taken notice of him just yet aside from the occasional glance. So he scoffed at his father's words of worry and stuffed the box in his backpack.
"Class, we have a new student joining us this term. Please, come over and introduce yourself." San did as he was told and stood next to the teacher.
"Hi! My name is San, I'm seventeen. I'm pretty new to the area, I just got here a few days ago actually. So I hope we can all be friends!" He flashed a smile. Some of the students gasped at him and began whispering among themselves.
"Any questions for San?" Several people raised their hands.
"Are you into cosplay or something?"
San looked at them in confusion. "When you're really into dress up." They explained with a groan. San quickly shut his mouth, remembering that he had small fangs. He shook his head. "No, I've just got sharp canines."
