Escape The Dead

Chapter 26- Still Alive

"Not those things again!" Tyler said.

"Forget about that, Nicole needs help!" Gina sprinted down to the gate.

Everyone else soon followed Gina. Gina ram the door open and ran into the training area.

While Nicole stood there in fear as the three werewolves growled.

"Ok." Nicole gulped. "I can do this." She lift the scythe as one of the werewolves let out a loud snarl. "Maybe not." Nicole screamed and ran for her life as the three werewolves chased after her.

One of the werewolves jumped up in the air, over Nicole and landed in front of her. Blocking her way, she stopped and was about to run in the other direction when the other two werewolf blocked her way as well. Nicole was now trapped. Nicole tried to think of a way out but nothing came to mind. Just then Gina jumped out of no where landing on one of the werewolve's back. Swinging out her bladed tonfas, she stabbed into the werewolf's head, but instead of going in the blades made a clink sound as it bounced back causing Gina to lose balance falling off the werewolf's back. She quickly got back up remembering the only way to kill them is by attacking their underbelly or face. The other two werewolf quickly took action and jumped on Nicole, but she jumped aside just in time before they got her. Peyton and Zoie quickly found them and aimed at the werewolves with their guns. The bullets mostly bounced off their fur not doing a single damage. Gina was keeping one werewolf busy while Zoie, Peyton and Nicole took care of the other two. Gina was pushed back to a tree. The werewolf snarled when Joe cursed at it.

"Over here you fucking piece of shit!"

"That was not called for," Jack mentioned.

The werewolf brought it's attention to Joe and Jack and charged at them. Jack drew the katana that was on his back and dashed forward. Joe took his auto rifle and started to shoot. The bullets bounced of the fur and right when Jack make contact with the beast, he slid to the ground under the werewolf. Jack stuck his blade up slashing the werewolf from neck all the way to its torso as he slid under. The beast dropped to the ground dead. Gina ran and embraced Jack. Joe ran to help his sister but then he got knocked to the ground by a flying Zoie.

"I'm so sorry," Zoie quickly got off of Joe hoping she didn't crush him.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," Joe got up dusting himself.

"Well I'm not!" Peyton was still fending off one of the werewolves alone while Nicole was fending off the other.

Zoie and Joe looked at each other before helping Peyton. Then all of a sudden Tyler came out of the bushes riding another werewolf.

"Get me off this thing!!" He yelled.

Then Johnny and Jillian came out from the bushes that Tyler came from. Johnny bend over trying to catch his breath from all that chasing. Gina and Jack ran over to the werewolf that Tyler was trapped on. The werewolf ram and banged against trees trying to knock Tyler off its back. Tyler clenched against the fur trying not to get flung over.

Nicole swung the scythe at the werewolf's face as a red cut was made right under its left eye. It glared at her and stood up casting a shadow over Nicole.

"Man you're huge," Nicole gulped.

She dashed away running for her life. The werewolf darted after her. Nicole took out her shotgun and fired behind her. She put the uzi back in the holster seeing that it did no damage. She ran as fast as she could, not looking back. She followed the river up stream. Right when she ran up the river she came to an halt. She ran all the way out to the center of the training grounds where the water falls from the tall cliff. She looked at the edge of the cliff seeing the waterfall falling into a lake. She was about to turn around when the werewolf came to view. Nicole looked behind her seeing the waterfall crashing down against the earth. She took out the scythe getting ready to fight. The werewolf jumped at her, Nicole used the scythe and banged the beast in the face with the side of the blade, knocking the beast to the ground, but quickly gained it's footing. The werewolf scratched the black scythe out of Nicole's hands and headbutted her sending her flying towards the edge. Nicole was able to grab the edge of the cliff before she fell. She gripped onto the grass and rock, but the water rushing down beside her was giving her a hard time, she can feel her hands slipping. The black beast stepped to the edge glaring down on Nicole. Her eyes widen in fear knowing this the end of the line for her. The beast howled as if this was his victory. Then all of a sudden Nicole saw the curved blade of the scythe slammed into the beast's face as blood gushed out. The forced of the blade was powerful enough to cut its cheek all the way to the other side, killing it. It fell to down dead as Matt can to view.

"Matt!" She called, but her gripped slipped and she fell along side the waterfall.

The last thing Nicole saw was Matt jumping off the cliff after her before she fell into the lake engulfed by the water. It was cold, she could feel her body go numb from the cold water. She didn't even try to fight, she knew this was the end of the line.

"Nicole!"

'Who's calling me?'

"Nicole wake up!"

'Am I alive?'

"Please Nicole, let me see your eyes."

'I feel... rain? Why is it warm?'

Matt cuddled Nicole in his arms as tears fell from his eyes onto her face. Nicole's eyes fluttered opened seeing Matt's worried expression. Nicole coughed and sat up seeing that Matt and herself were drenched. She then brought her attention to Matt looking straight into his eyes. Matt's expression was replaced by joy.

"Nicole! Oh thank goodness." Matt wrapped his arms around Nicole bringing her into his embrace.

Nicole was surprised. She was alive, she survived that fall. Her face flushed with red and soon tears formed in her eyes. She wrapped her arms around Matt clenching onto his jacket and hot tears fell from her eyes as she sobbed onto Matt's left shoulder.

"Shh, it's ok, its ok," Matt rubbed her back as he comforted her. "I'm right here, it's gonna be ok."

Nicole kept on crying into his shoulder. The others found them by the lake after they took care if the other werewolves. Jack was helping Gina keep her balance and Zoie had to keep Joe from falling over. Tyler was holding on to his arm walking beside Peyton and Johnny was holding Jillian bridal style since she twist her ankle, he placed her down as she blushed. They all saw Nicole in Matt's embrace and that brought a smile to everyone's faces. Jack pulled Gina closer to him and she nuzzle her head onto his shoulder. Johnny wrapped an arm around Jillian's waist pulling her closer, Jillian's face flushed a deeper red. Joe entwined his fingers with Zoie's. She looked at Joe seeing that his cheeks was rosy pink, this made Zoie blush a bit. Peyton only lean against Tyler for support and he doesn't really mind. He's just happy that everyone is safe. Until howls could be heard in the distance.

"Ok, enough of this mushy love stuff, we have to get out of here," Tyler said.

Nicole broke the embrace and wiped her tears. Matt got up and lent a hand to her. Nicole blushed slightly and gladly took his hand as he helped her up. They all ran back to the laboratory ready to leave before anymore werewolves make their appearance.
