I started to panic, yeah I can change into what ever kind of animals, but no matter what he will always be bigger than me. I had to do the only thing I could to end this. I didn't want to fight, of course I was still angry with him and I didn't agree with what he had said, but fighting him wasn't going to solve anything.
When Talon shrank to where he was about the size of a soda can I shifted back into my human body. He returned to his normal size and looked at me "isn't this what you wanted?"
I shook my head and said "no, it's not." I couldn't believe he actually thought I wanted to fight. The disbelief in his eyes made me want to explain further "I just don't understand why you felt the way you did."
He corrected me "feel - I still feel that way!" we both looked at our parents and I asked if we could go and talk. I looked at Talon and he nodded showing that he was okay with it.
Our parents agreed and took Skylar and Ashton back into the house. Talon sat down in the grass and laid on his back. I fell onto the ground next to him. There was a long silence and Talon broke it by saying "I'm not mad that you don't understand what I'm going through, I mean you don't know anything outside of this life." He sat up and shook his head once, causing his black hair to fall into his face.
I thought about it and he was right, this was the only life I knew, but that doesn't mean it was a bad one. did it? our eyes met and I let out a sigh " what Was your life like before this?"
His green eyes met mine. He took a deep breath and opened his mouth to talk but nothing came out. after a few moments he let out " well, before I was homeless I lived with my REAL parents. I even had a dog. It wasn't always perfect but it was good and normal. I went to school and I really liked it. On Thursdays we would make homemade pizza and it was the best pizza ever."
A smile came across his face as the memories flowed back. I tried to imagine what it'd be like to have that life. I only had one question "What's pizza?"
Talon's smile quickly went away as he looked at me in shock. He stood up and said "you, my friend, have been deprived." he stuck out his hand and I grabbed it. He pulled me up and then he burst end out into laughter.
"Why are you laughing?" I asked.
He shook his head and repeated my question from moments ago, "what is pizza? How so you not know what pizza is?" he asked grabbing my shoulders. We began walking back to the house laughing. I wasn't really sure why, but it was good to have my best friend back.
