How do you know?

It took only a matter of minuscule seconds for Luke to come barging through the door himself, slamming it behind him before running to me, comfortably sitting on the couch as he holds me down at my legs for me to listen. I knew those eyes- those crazy childish eyes that looked as though they saw their idol and wanted to share their encounter with the world. I knew he was talking about the circus, and he knew it too since my expression was so plain and tiresome as I began to yawn, already making up an excuse. "Come on! You can't say it won't be fun, maybe lover boy will be there" Luke already sounded as though he'd been incessant and stubborn for an hour now, when really he'd only just begun. I rolled my eyes, my legs pulling back from Luke's lap and his hands that held them down, planting them back on the floor so that I sat equally beside him. Luke watched with hopeful eyes that prayed with faith, his hands laced into a begging plead as he stares with pursed lips. It was already dark, it seemed about that time the circus would kick off again for its last remaining night in town, but I was hardly even decent looking. "Okay look, one. He isn't my lover boy, I just texted him that one time and he happened to reply. And two, if I go, will you pay for all food" I raise a brow, Luke already growing a wide smile as he looks away from my eyes, down to his pleading hands in his lap. "I'll take that as a yes!" I yell happily, standing up on my own two feet and allowing my hands to clap together, already tasting the sweet sugary bliss of Cotten candy and everything chocolate or salt based. I hurried away to my room, being quick to change in any thing decent while he waits silently in the next room.

I savaged through whatever piece of clothing wasn't hiding in what could be presented nicely; that being my room, but it was like my clothes had a mind of their own and decided to throw one of those frat collage parties. I sigh, looking around at the mess with my hands crossed and my lips close to bleeding from biting so hard. Most of my attire was piled on the bed, clear for me to observe as I stand at the end of the bed in a half naked appearance that was overruled by goosebumps. I wanted to look good, but why, I didn't know. Maybe For the strangers I'll never see again and really only glance at for a second, or for the clowns dressed in sweat suits, for the workers who share no enthusiasm what so ever, Or was it for Luke? I had a brooding expression just at the thought. "If you don't change into something soon, I won't be shouting you any food what so ever, not even sharing" Luke speaks in a low warning voice behind me, causing my body to jump just at the sound of his body leaning against my door, a small creak being louder then my breath but not my heart beat. I grabbed whatever shirt I could find, that being a jumper as I force it over my head, Luke merely smirking with his muscles present to my view. I could only imagine what lies beyond that dark shirt, possibly something more wonderful then his arm muscles that tensed or flexed every now and then. He giggles, This was not going to be the most joyful night. Circuses were always creepy in a way, just the sound of its carnival music and how it repeated endlessly, the faces of smelly old men with a painted pale face and over drawn lipstick- not to mention they reeked of alcohol; practically everything creepy about the circus was just its forte, emulating its established general style. Other then the creepiness, the circus was in a way rather beautiful.

It looked illuminating at night, with its bright lights coming from almost every gaming and food station that was held by tired workers, but most of all the main feature of it all that had brighter lights then any combined; the Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel was clear to my eyes that were lit by its vivid white and red colours, also Luke's as it only stood tall at a few metres away, slowly twisting and causing most people who stood closer than us to bend their necks further back just to glimpse at the tall height of it. There were people that walked around, mostly couples who were smiling and glowing with laughter gliding through the air, beyond the sound of the circus music and the 'dings' or popping balloons that loudly rung through my ears from the game compartments on either side of us. Hand in hand, luke and i walked, being our usual weird fetish that naturally happens whenever we enter crowded places. I looked around with observant eyes, feeling Luke's hand tighten whenever I stepped ahead of him. My eyes wondered to the couples who either sat on park benches, sharing Cotten candy and linking arms, or running around to the many various game compartments, holding hands or resting against their shoulder as they attempted to win a prize.
