This movie is a fractured fairy-tale, loosely based off Hans Christian Anderson's original story. This movie is so hopeful and the costumes are WONDERFUL (IDK if they're accurate though)! Also, I don't think I've really ever seen any "modernized" versions of 'The Little Mermaid' before, so this is extra cool. I also might need to add that this is one of the more slow-paced movies that I truly enjoyed. The trailer is pretty revealing though.

When Cam Harrison, a reporter, hears from his niece, Elle, about the existence of a mermaid, he is extremely sceptical. However, when they are sent to Mississippi to investigate some magic cure, he decides to get closer to the creature and find out the truth for himself.
