Charlie Martin had her life changed overnight when a strange evil attacked her home. With her father missing and her mother in a coma; for her own safety, she was sent to a distant relative on the other side of the country.
Caroline Forbes, who happens to be a pro when it comes to the supernatural. She even has a school for the 'gifted', plus she was a vampire.
However, despite Caroline's experience with the supernatural, Charlie was a case all too new to her and she thought it be best for Charlie to traverse the world with her until she was ready to join the other students at her school.
