You just started a new year at Hogwarts, you have started finding your true personality and your best friend, Neville, will always be there by your side. What could go wrong this year?
Well, the answer is, lots of things could go wrong.
You walk out to the courtyard after breakfast and see a pale boy with dark hair rolled up into a ball laying against a tree. You walk up to him and to your surprise, it was Neville!
His eyes were red and puffy, telling you he'd just been crying."Nev, what in Merlin's name is wrong?" I whisper yelled.
"I forgot to do my potions assignment and Snape is going to scream at me and I just cannot do this anymore!" Neville sobbed.
You pull him into a tight embrace and rub his back to comfort him. He sobs a bit more into your shirt collar.
You pull him up onto his feet and hold his hand tightly as you guide him to potions class.
You can sense the anxiety trickle through him as he steps into the room.
Snape glares at the two of you and points at a small circular table.
"Let's go over there, Neville," you whisper. He nods and you two sit down at the table.
You seemed to excel at potions and you offered to help Neville, since he wasn't the greatest at potions.
Snape caught you whispering the ingredients of the potions into Nevilles ear and hissed, "Five points from Gryffindor! Miss Y/L/N, I think I specified this was an independent assignment,"
You rolled your eyes as you heard Draco Malfoy and his gang of goons snicker at Snape's remark.Neville's eyes slowly filled with tears as Snape continued to scream at him for not finishing his assignment.
You close your eyes and take many deep breaths, wishing this nightmare of a class would soon end. You couldn't stand seeing your best friend being treated with such abuse.
