"Follow me," Marmotwhisper whispered to his daughters.

He carefully stalked his way out of the den, making his way along the edge of camp. As planned, he caught a glimpse of Pricklestone on guard. He flicked his tail towards his son, to which Coastmoon slowly and stealthily made her way towards him.

Icicleshard followed behind her father like a white shadow. As they crept closer and closer to Magnoliaspring's den, Marmotwhisper felt more and more tense.

This is the most dangerous thing I've ever done, he thought to himself. But it's also the most important. She cannot rule the Imperials anymore. She isn't a real leader.

Cautiously glancing around the camp, he saw Coastmoon and Pricklestone approaching from the other side. They would fend off any cat who tried to stop them. The large hunter poked his head inside the Seraphim den, only to see Magnoliaspring and Pumasnarl sleeping together peacefully.

"What do we do if he wakes up?" Icicleshard hissed to her father.

"I'll fight him off," Marmotwhisper reassured his daughter. "That cat abandoned your mother for Magnoliaspring; he is no better than the Seraphim,"

A flash of surprise shone in Icicleshard's blue eyes, and she nodded. Silently, they crept in the den, Marmotwhisper circling their nest. Icicleshard hesitated for a moment, before resting her paws on Magnoliaspring's grey head.

Marmotwhisper stood tall over the smaller Setaphim, glaring down at her sleeping body. "Death to the Seraphim," he snarled softly as he suddenly dropped down, sinking his jaws into her neck.

Magnoliaspring suddenly convulsed underneath him, shaking slightly. Icicleshard dug her claws into her head, keeping the she-cat from overpowering her father.

Not long after, she fell still. Her second life was gone. "One more to go," Marmotwhisper whispered, half to himself.

Suddenly, Marmotwhisper felt a large weight push him off. "Traitor!" Pumasnarl growled, pummelling his paws at the younger hunter.

Icicleshard leaped towards Pumasnarl, hooking her claws into his back. The silver cat yowled, stumbling off Marmotwhisper as he thrashed his body around.

Coastmoon suddenly burst into the den, leaping into the fray to help her sister. Icicleshard slid off the tabby as both she-cats attacked from a different side.

Marmotwhisper quickly was on his paws. He looked back at Magnoliaspring. He thought he saw her stirring, as if she was waking up. No! My plan will not be ruined!

Angrily, he leapt back onto the Seraphim, his claws aiming for her throat. But Magnoliaspring was too quick. She used her hind paws to kick his belly, and Marmotwhisper was thrown back, rolling outside the Seraphim's den.

Outside, frantic yowls could be heard. Getting up, Marmotwhisper caught a glimpse of Pricklestone trying to fight off Hootyew and Sagestorm.

They were both mates of Mistystone, he remembered. I will not let them kill my son!

Leaping into the fray, Marmotwhisper landed square in Hootyew's back. The older tomcat collapsed under his weight, groaning. Marmotwhisper pinned him down, and gave him a hard glare. "Don't you touch him!" He snarled.

Hootyew looked baffled. "He's the one who attacked us!" He explained. "What is going on? What do you think you're doing, Marmotwhisper?"

"You're fighting for the wrong side," Marmotwhisper growled. "You don't seem to understand. At least you had enough sense to leave Mistystone. But your poor helpless daughter gets to do whatever she wants while she kills the rest of us!"
