There's a knock on the door. You open it expecting a trick or a treater. Instead, you find a lock of hair on the floor.
Cursed.
It was a very usual halloween, just like it is today.
Aly was with his dog Tuffy, enjoying a piece of pumpkin pie with jelly worms watching the re-runs of supernatural.Ofcourse with few kids interrupting for trick or treat.
He should have been partying with his school mates but that wasn't who he was.
He loved cuddles with his Tuffy."Hey Tuffy? Ready to watch? Here's your snack!" Giving the dog treat to Tuffy he sat down just then the door bell rang again for the umpteenth time tonight.
Sighing he stood up, wearing his skeleton mask with Tuffy in similar costume as well.
"TRICK or TREAT?! " Aly shouted only to find no one at the door.
Muttering," strange!"
The neighborhood outside was grim, dead branches swaying, with jack-o'-lantern lit on people's porches and an endless dark road, it was a perfect scene for a horror movie.
Just as he was about to close the door he saw lock of hair on the floor.
What kind of trick was that?
A new trend to scare people?
After removing his mask, he bent to Pick up the hair, examining it a little, it looked real.
Irritated for wasting time just to find hair, he headed inside throwing the hair on the bin next to the sofa.Just as he sat back on the sofa, the power went out.
"Fuck halloween!" Aly muttered getting up for candles.
Suddenly the air sifted, chilly winds started howling making the trees rustle.
Aly switched on the candle and went towards the living room.
"Tuffy?" He called out his dog.
Something soft felt below his feet as he walked towards the sofa.
He bent to see, bringing the candle a little closer, but before he could see the candle got off as if someone blew it out.
He took whatever it was on the floor in the palm of his other hand and headed towards the kitchen to on the candle.
Suddenly the power came back, he smiled looking at the tube light on the ceiling and then looked at his hand and saw more strands of hair. This time those hairs were like his, but not on head now holding in his palms.
He hurried back in the living room and saw the floor sparkly clean.
How?
He called out his dog again.
Thinking might have gone out at the backyard, he sat back on the sofa, switching the TV back on.
He felt sweat dripping down his forehead, he was feeling hot all of a sudden.
He decided to have a shower, he removed his clothes got in,starting to lather the shampoo only to feel baldness.
He looked at the foggy mirror but couldn't see, hands trembling to fear the outcome, fear dug in him like a quick silver in a thermometer.
He was now completely bald.
And it is said that the curse of this hair lock still lives on, no one's aware how or why it started.
