Okay? Okay.

"Dear diary,
So today's to day I finally get out of this place and go and enjoy life.

My life.

Without this depressing town, without stress and without my mother hovering over my shoulder bringing me down.

Most girls would be sad to be leaving home into the unknown, but I'm not like most girls. I like the adventure I like the unknown, it gives me something to live for. And that's good enough for me.

I bet your thinking "God, she so depressing" or "Oh my god get this girl some help" but the truth is, I just want to have my own life, with my own rules to go by. To wear my own clothes, and experiment with makeup, or maybe get a tattoo!

Okay, too far, not a tattoo.

I just can't wait to get to collage. Wish me luck...I'm gonna need it...

A x "

Sighing I place my pen down. I'm currently lying on my bed with my thoughts, staring up at my cracked sealing counting the tiles as each second passes by.

I'm leaving. I'm getting out. I might even get a boyfriend.

My amazing thoughts get rudely interrupted by the annoying call from my mother telling me to hurry up.

Sighing once again, I place my diary into my bag and pull it over my shoulder.

Before leaving my childhood room I take one last glance in the mirror. The person I see is strangely unknown to me. Her eyes are big and brown, and seem almost to be searching for excitement while her eyelashes curl perfectly widening them more. Her hair is perfect for once in her life, the brown curls fall neatly, the curl giving the girls hair an almost silky effect. Her clothes are boring and old, but give her a casual look.

It's weird, seeing yourself completely different to what your used to. It's like an extra glow is laced on my skin just because I'm getting out of here.

And the sudden feeling of loss clouds me because, after today, this room is no longer my home.

"Allie! Come on! We're going to be late!" The annoying call from my mother sounds again causing me to jump. The noise of cabinets opening and shutting frantically let me know she might just be as excited or worried as I am. I haven't decided which one yet.

"Coming mom!" I call back, rolling my eyes as I walk down the stairs to face my mother who is now rushing out of the house with my suitcases. "I'm ready. See?" My tone makes her send a glare my way, but brushing it off I get into the car.

Time for the most awkward ride of my life.

*

The car ride to my collage was awkward to say the absolute least. My mothers poor taste in music and crapy driving skills had me holding on for my life one second and then had me wanting to jump out of the car the next.

Pulling into the campus car park my mother turns to face me in the car.

"So what do you have to do?" Her questioning voice annoys me, and I suddenly can't wait to not have to hear it everyday.

"Find my dorm" My voice is bored, slow and practiced. I repeat the lecture she's been telling me all through the ride here as she asks me yet another question.

"And?" She prompts me annoyingly.

Sighing I speak again, getting tired of hearing my own voice. "No drinking. No parties. I'm on a collage course, not a holliday" I see her nod in agreement of my choice of words and I am suddenly grateful that she didn't pick fault with me again.

Getting out of the car I get my stuff. "Bye mom, I'll miss you"

Lie. The voice in my head tells me as I say this. You little liar. I push away the voice and smile falsely down towards her waving as she drives away.

I release the breath I don't realise i was holding as I see her car go out of sight.

Freedom feels good bitches.

Heading through the collage I try and find my dorm. I walk around with my stuff and the small pice of paper that holds the important information under my nose, hoping that I won't knock into someone stupidly. That would be just my luck.

Finally finding I my room, I go in to find half of the room decorated in rock band posters with some gothic clothes strung everywhere.

Shit a brick.

Cursing in my head I take a step in and find myself holding my breath as a small ginger girl comes out looking beautiful as ever. Her face is pretty and round and hold pink full lips. I try not to stare as I don't want to freak her out already, so I just put my cases down and go and approach her.

"Hey I'm allie" I introduce myself friendlily and throw a small smile her way, earning one back.

"Well my names Brooke and we must be roommates!" Her excited voice startles me but I quickly recover myself with a laugh.

"I guess we are!" I reply almost too excitedly eyes traveling around the room my eyes widen. "You've got quite a collection going on here" I state, as I look at her massive collection of CDs and old records.

"Uh yeah, I want to get more but they are hard to find" Brooke sighs, telling me this and then suddenly bursting out a gasp she speaks again "You don't mind them do you?" She asks me almost frantically causing a giggle to escape my lips.

"No! I think they are awesome!" I chuckle again, throwing my cases on my bed with a frown.

"Good, cause they are like my babies" She sends a playful glare my way and then carries on talking "I'm so glad we've got one of the best dorms in the collage, the beds are so freaking comfy!" Brooke squeals excitedly throwing herself on the bed. "And trust me, I've seen the other ones and just no! Ew" She sits up dramatically telling me this causing me to throw my head back in laughter.

"Not judgemental at all there Brooke" I joke, but knowing she's probably right.

"Whatever, So what are you studying collage girl?" Brooke asks me looking actually quite interested.

"Uh well," I start with a sigh. "I'm studding English literature, for my moms sake mostly" I roll my eyes as I say this and move on quickly. "I've also applied to tutor anyone that needs help in maths" She raises her eyebrows at me and comes to stand in front of me.

"Okay, tutor girl" Winking she carries on speaking. "What else? And the next subject has to be for your sake, not your moms or some randomer who's shit at math" Her statement makes me shift, I've never told anyone this but I guess there's a start for everything right?

"I've applied to dance as well as my other subjects, although no one knows except you so shush okay?" I practically beg her.

"My lips are sealed tutor girl" Brooke promises me earning a roll of the eyes from me.

"Enough about me!" I exclaim smiling. "What are you studying?" I ask.

She sends a smirk my way and picks up two dresses and hold them in front of my face and raises her eyebrows.

"Witch one?" She asks me completely skipping the question, making me grin.

"The black one" I tell her. "But I bet you'll look good in both" I add quickly not wanting to offend her.

She laughs not phased and shoves the black material in my hands. "Oh honey, this isn't my dress, it's yours." Seeing my confused face she continues. "Better get ready tutor girl, we're going to a party"
