a/n: I've never been to a church... obviously... so if there's any errors I'm so sorry, love y'all

~

lucas's palms sweat when he rests them against his thighs. the church has two air-conditioner; one of them broke last week while the other one sits far in the back, so it doesn't do any justice to keep him cold. it's barely noon yet lucas itches to go home already, albeit the choir's only getting started.

mark sits next to him, but his attention is fixed on the pastor, as opposed to his friend who keeps whining to him. with a stern look mark shushes him and lucas pouts. if sicheng was here, he wouldn't have been this bored.

but that's the thing. sicheng and church don't go together, like lemon and peanut butter.

he leans on his seat, eyes scanning the room. the pastor is reading some verses, and while he normally pays 100% attention, today he finds himself wanting to go home than anything else. home, to his apartment and his dog, bella – to sicheng, his boyfriend.

recently, the older got a new tattoo on the side of his neck, a full moon with a snake around it. that's where lucas likes to bite on the most. it's pretty and it suits sicheng. he doesn't know how to explain it, it just does.

flashbacks of his boyfriend – pretty, pretty sicheng with flushed cheeks and bare body pressed against their soft mattress, with fresh hickeys on his neck as lucas admires him from the top – flood his mind. lucas's skin crawls under his white button-up. he can't wait to go home.

the mass crawls on all fours, ending after what felt like years and lucas sighs when he joins mark on the way out. mark talks about some songs the choir performed, and while lucas doesn't pay much attention, he hears the name renjun this and renjun that, so he decides it's nothing important. only mark pining over his crush, nothing new.

he stops in his steps when he sees a familiar black jaguar in the car park. leaning against the car is sicheng, in tight leather jeans and black tee and – is that lucas's hoodie? – his phone in his hand, the other one sweeping through his black locks. he narrows his eyes behind his round spectacles and lucas awes. despite his black-on-black clothing, he looks like a kitten.

lucas's brought back to reality when his boyfriend glares at a man who's looking at him weirdly. right. sicheng... he's got quite a reputation in this neighbourhood (a bad one, to be precise), and people scowl when they see him, especially anywhere near the church.

mark nudges him. " sicheng-ge looks like he's gonna murder someone ," lucas looks down at him, and mark shoots him a knowing smile. " probably gonna be you if you don't take him home now ."

mark doesn't need to tell him twice. lucas says his goodbye and pats his best friend on the back before he squishes his way through the crowd to his boyfriend. when sicheng spots him, he eyes lucas and srunches his nose in distaste.

lucas scans himself. he's wearing a white button-up, blue denim jeans and he's sure he washed his hair this morning. but sicheng is grimacing.

" what's wrong with my look ?"

" nothing. you're late, though. were you checking out the girls in the choir ?"

lucas finds his cheeks burning. " I – I wasn't ."

" sure ," sicheng rolls his eyes, getting into the driver seat without another glance. lucas stays still before his boyfriend speaks up again. " get in, dumbass. I've got mcdonalds ."

if there's the best way to kidnap wong yukhei, it would be with food. lucas hops into the passenger seat eagerly and sicheng shakes his head at his childish boyfriend, though the corner of his lips quirk up in a small smile as he hands lucas the paper bag. sicheng rolls his sleeves up to his arms – revealing an adorable small puppy tattoo adorning his wrist – and scrunches his glasses up as he turns the engine on. lucas tries not to drool at the sight.
