Aro's Mate

Chapter Thirteen

I wake up in his arms. His smell engulfs me and I turn around to see him looking at me and I smile.

"Good morning, Aro." I lean in to kiss him but instead he just pushes me away and gets on top of me.

"Oh is that what we're doing? Okay I can play along." I tease and reach up to kiss him again but he puts his hand on my neck and holds me down, hard.

"Aro what are you doing?"

"I have become impatient, I want to taste you now." He says and before I can say anything he leans down and digs his teeth deep into my neck, pain shoots through my body and I try to scream but nothing comes out. I feel the pressure of his body on top of me and I can't breathe. He sucks hard, all of the blood is being drained from my body and I start to see spots, I am dying.

I wake up to Aro shaking me.

"Amelia my love wake up you are having a bad dream!" I sit up in the bed and see Aro, before I realize it was just a dream I scream and get out of the bed.

"Get away from me! You tried to kill me!" I scream again and run out of the room, I pass Demetri and run to the elevator but Aro beats me there, he grabs me and pulls me to him.

"Shhh it was just a dream I promise I would never try to kill you, it would cause me more pain than it would you." The feeling of him holding me immediately calms me down, other vampires gather around to see what the commotion was.

"Please leave us everyone this doesn't concern you." Aro says and the vampires disperse. I stand there silent as he holds me, I can't process what just happened.

"Amelia let's go back to the room and get you some breakfast okay? I promise everything is okay, it was just a bad dream." I nod my head and let him lead me back to the room.

We sit on the bed and Aro continues to hold me close to him.

"Do you want to talk about your dream?" he asks and I shake my head no, I just lean in close to him trying to forget the dream.

There is a knock at the door and Lucia walks in with breakfast, I feel a little better when I see her and I smile.

"Goodmorning Master Aro, and Amelia. I have breakfast for you." She says and smiles back at me.

"Aro this is who I was talking about! Lucia you should stay here while I eat again and meet Aro, please?" I turn to Aro and he nods, Lucia puts my breakfast in my lap and then takes a seat in a chair near the door. She looks nervous around Aro.

"Have you two met?" I look at Aro as I start to eat my food.

"Yes, briefly yesterday when she interrupted a very important meeting, I almost had her, um, fired. But then Demetri reminded me of my promise to you." I wince at the word fired knowing she wouldn't just be sent home, but killed.

"Oh, well thank you for not firing her." I look up at her with a "Im sorry" face and she just smiles, I don't think she wants to speak while Aro is in here with me.

I continue to eat and I can see Aro watching Lucia out of the corner of my eye.

"I must go, I have a few duties to attend to but I would like to take you out on the town for dinner again, Amelia. See you later my love." He kisses me and then gets up and leaves.

"He's gone, you can talk now. You can say anything you want I wont tell anyone." I tell Lucia as I keep eating.

"Thank goodness, he really scares me I'm going to be honest."

"Yeah he gets that a lot but I think he enjoys that his presence scares people, so don't feel bad. Once you get to know him he is extremely sweet, but I guess not to the servants." I frown
