"Lady Emrys. Lady Emrys. Lady Emrys? Lady....EMRYS!" The light from Lyra's window hit her eyes as she attempted to turn towards where the panicked voice had come from. She squinted to see Edna looking at her with wider eyes than she had ever seen on a house elf.
"Yes, Edna," Lyra groaned, yawning and stretching as she attempted to roll back to the side where she could go on sleeping peacefully. She jumped as she found Mirabella staring at her with a wide smile that showed her teeth like the Cheshire cat. "Mira! I swear...have you been watching me sleep?" Lyra made a light-hearted face of disgust which Mirabella responded to by rolling her eyes.
"I'm not weird like you, Lyra. Now, get up! You have been sleeping like a baby, while the rest of the manor has been preparing to leave."
"Leave?" Lyra's face scrunched up. "No," she said, finally realising what Mirabella had been referring to. Mirabella nodded, while wincing. Lyra scrambled out of her bed without a second thought and went straight to her bathroom, where a bath had already been drawn. "Thank you, Edna!" she exclaimed panicking, "How much time do I have left?" In her hurried state, she didn't notice Edna disapparating out of Lyra's room, shaking her head.
"About 10 minutes?" Mirabella answered as she moved to the mirror to gather her things into her purse for the Quidditch World Cup.
Lyra tripped on the step to the bath and fell in hands first, narrowly missing dunking her head into the water. "WHAT?! Why didn't you wake me? I am in so much trouble." she groaned and brought herself more carefully into a sitting position to take the quick bath.
"You looked so peaceful...and it's not like I didn't try! I shouldn't have compared you to a baby," Mirabella narrowed her eyes, "Truthfully, you were more like a dragon with the way you swore every time I even attempted to push you awake. Apparently, only Edna can do the job."
"I am not a morning person." Lyra huffed out as she quickly finished her bath and put on the simple, black dress, long white socks and the highly impractical, classic mary janes that she knew her mother would expect her to wear. She came out of the bathroom and rushed to grab her bag from Mirabella.
"One minute left. Wow," Mirabella exclaimed, "I didn't know you were so talented."
"Come on..." Lyra said.
Mirabella was looking like a goddess, as always. Her hair fell like a fountain of dark brown down her back. She was wearing a black sweater over a tweed, white and black skirt and a slightly more practical pair of black boots that she most likely hid from her parents in her luggage that she brought to the Emrys manor for the move. "You look great, Mira," Lyra smiled at her as they walked down the hall and down to the dining room where Lyra's father sat on one end of the long table and her mother sat on the other. Mirabella rolled her eyes, but smiled back.
Before they separated to sit in front of each other, Mirabella said in a low voice, "I know. One of us needed to be able to hold the other when they inevitably tripped." Lyra quickly stuck her tongue out, before facing her parents.
