All I hear these days is laughter and joy, yet none of it is mine. Until the moment I met Ethan Wilson.
The day took my breath away, literally. Everyday I wake up and do my daily jog. I've been doing it for so long that I can do it in my sleep. As always I'm pretty down because I've lost the only thing I cared about my sister, Melissa. She died of a brain tumor and I miss her everyday.
My mother used to be the greatest mom ever. But ever since Melissa died things have become unbearable. She has turned into a woman that I can't even recognize. And as if that couldn't be enough my dad left us because he blames my mom for Melissa's death.
Since then, I've been the one putting the food on the table. And that was two years ago. We live in this crappy apartment in a town called Riverbend. I'm in my third year of high school with absolutely no friends. I thought I could make some, but once everyone heard about my sister they wanted nothing to do with me. I'm the ultimate nerd who still isn't over the loss of her dead sister. I am Erin Thompson.
