A Dried Tear

A Dried Tear

I walk past you in the cold of night

I see you crying...

I have never seen you in my life

Still I feel I know you

I freeze for a moment

Standing still

You glance at me with eyes full of tears

I don't know what to do

I sit down beside you

What must I say

This isn't easy

You scowl at me and ask what I want

I just look at you with a caring face

Your face seems to light up

I see you trying

The blackness of your eye, says it all

The pain you must feel

So deep inside

You lay against my shoulder

The tears don't stop

The darkness around us

All the way to the top

So here we sit

On this park bench

Just me and you

Once again

We fall asleep

As so many times before

I'm here to take away

The heartache and sore

You are my love

I hope this you know

As white as a glove

Is your soul

I've known you forever

You are the one

The light inside you

As bright as the sun

We sit there for hours

On that park bench

The sun rises

Just once again

I look at your face

So beautiful it is

Along your cheek

Runs the ever long line

Of a dried tear

Forever you're mine...
