Chapter 13: Getting my Life Back

After I got that letter from Maddie I knew she was safe and happy. It made me feel a lot better.

I got a job working for an animal shelter and I get paid $18 an hour. I really love my job. That night I went to bed as happy as could be. The morning when I woke up I got another note from Maddie that read: "I love you mom! I just wanted to let you know that I am safe and happy. -Maddie"

My eyes filled up with tears. They weren't sad tears. They were tears of joy. I was really happy for Maddie. "I love you too Maddie. I can't wait what lies ahead for you..."
