Chapter 4-protection

(She hated the idea all together. She was forced to stay in a hotel with a guy who made it pretty clear he didn't even wanna be part of the scenario)

(They sat in the truck, provided to the them by the district, sitting outside the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, being totally fooled by the word hotel. The place looked like a castle)

E<"you can drive off when I get out"(she said unbuckling herself)

J<"what"?

E<"I said you can drive off when I get out"!

J<"why would I do that"?(he asked)

E<"you don't even wanna be here,(she looked at him),made it pretty clear at the district and the ride here, so just leave"

J<"and have your dad rip my balls off? I'll manage"

E<"whatever, don't whine after I let you off the hook,(she opened up her door, gasping when the valet walked up to her, catching her off guard, feeling Jays hand on her arm in case he had to pull her in. She took a second to breathe before letting the man help her out of the truck),thank you"(she flinched when he shut her door behind her before she turned slowly and looked up at the feature of the hotel, in total shock that the district and manager of the hotel put this aside in order for her protection. She was caught off guard when she felt someone's hand on the small of her back, making her jump slightly and look up)

J<"sorry,(he took his hand off her back),you ready to head in"

E<"our bags"?

J<"they got em"

E<"I didn't tip him"

J<"I handled it,(he assured her),come on,(he nodded his way towards the stairs of the hotel, staying beside her as they made their way to huge entrance. The person outside opened the door for them, nodding when Erin said thank you. Jay let her in first and then walked to the counter with her beside him to get the key),Mr. and Mrs.Halstead,(he said and than looked down at Erin as she look up at him confused),we had to put it down as one name"

E<"okay,(she gently laughed and then brought her attention to the desk lady who handed both her and jay separate key cards),thank you"

<"enjoy your stay"

J<"you as wel..(he stopped himself before he finished his sentence),have a good day"

(He smiled and then laughed, making his way to the elevators with Erin trolling behind him as she continued to laugh. They waited for ten minutes until the elevator made it down to the first floor)

E<"there's sixty floors"(she asked)

J<"yup...and where on it,(he flicked the card between his fingers just as the elevator doors opened. He stepped aside and waited for Erin to enter first, stepping inside as more people filled it in. The doors shut and people started to chatter quietly so that no one overheard certain conversations. Erin bit down on her bottom lip and tapped her foot as she watched the numbers increase above the elevator door, indicating which floor they were on. Throughout the elevator she heard gasps, and saw from her peripheral as everyone turned their heads),look,(he gently tapped her arm with his, directly her to looking at the back of the elevator. She turned around and could've sworn she saw the most beautiful view ever. Just as she was about to step away from jay and towards the back to look at the view from the glass, she felt a gentle yank on her wrist, causing her to turn around and look),almost at our floor, you ready"?

E<"yeah,(she nodded and waited patiently for two more floors to pass by before the elevator came to a slow stop and the doors opened. A couple people stepped off and then jay allowed erin to step off first and then followed her out. They were met by two lobbyists holding a tray of champagne and a towel over their forearm just outside the foyer of their sweet, gladly taking a glass and thanking the gentlemen for the gesture. Erin slid the card into the lock and waited for it to beep, and then pushing it open after it unlocked. She took two steps in and was met with a view better than the one from the elevator, let alone her apartment),holy crap"(she whispered, walking further into the room, admiring the modern detail and the little yet still large living area that was separated by an island fireplace, with a super clean kitchen to the right of her)
