Harry's POV

Four of our guards take us to the hospital. I know that sounds excessive, but since Lou and I are going to be separated for this they wanted us to each have two.

"See you soon love," Louis gives me a parting kiss before he hops out of the car.

They give me a private room on the orthopedic floor, not because I'm critical but to keep me away from fans and paps. After a few minutes a couple of doctors enter the room.

"Hello there Harry, I'm Dr. Torres, but you can call me Callie if you prefer," one of the doctors introduces herself.

"Hello, I'm Harry, obviously," I laugh at myself, feeling stupid, earning giggles from Callie and her assistant.

"This is Dr. Grey, she is on my service today. Are you cool with that?" Callie checks with me.

"Yeah, course," I assure them, And Dr Grey lets out a huge exhale.

"Oh boy, I'm Lexi, I'm sorry, I'm a huge fan! I'm so sorry, I'll be professional now, but I just want to tell you that your music saved me," Lexi rushes out and sticks her hand out, earning a laugh from me.

"It's alright, I appreciate it Lexi," I shake her hand and squeeze it reassuringly.

"So what brings you here Harry?" Callie asks casually, while watching Lexi try to contain her excitement.

"Well, Louis made me come. I have a herniated disc, and he's making me get it checked out, but I already know what's wrong, he's here too and basically said I had to go," I explain, fumbling over my words like I always do when I'm nervous.

"Experiencing any pain?" Callie asks, taking notes.

"Yeah, it actually has been getting a lot worse. It used to be only when I'd be traveling a lot, or sleeping in cramped spaces, but lately it has excruciating every day," I explain, admitting the reality if it for the first time out loud.

"I'm seeing here you were just in an accident? Car drove over a bridge? You must be superman!" Callie exclaims, making me laugh.

"Superman who can sing," Lexi adds, making me blush.

"We're going to go ahead and order an MRI of your back, and set you up on an IV for painkillers-" Callie starts, but I politely interrupt.

"Can I uh, actually um, opt out of the medicine?" I ask, earning confused looks from the both of them.

"Aren't you in pain?" Lexi questions, and I figure I might as well explain.

"Yeah, a lot actually. I have a family history of addiction, so I'm trying to avoid that if at all possible," I look down at my lap while I talk.

"No problem, Harry. Please let us know if you change your mind, we are here to help you," Callie responds, placing a hand on my shoulder while she talks.

"Thank you," I smile.

"Lexi, go ahead and order the MRI, take some blood and run some labs. Tell them to push them both up." Callie tells Lexi and they both leave the room.

Louis' POV

"Hi Louis, I'm Dr. Christina Yang, This is my intern Dr. Avery. I see here that you are looking to get tested for HCM?" Dr. Yang introduces her self and her intern.

"Yeah, my sister was just diagnosed today," I inform her, and Dr. Avery writes it down.

"Are you familiar with the condition?" She asks, and I shake my head no.
