Ellerie opened the car door for me, I wasn't entirely sure where she was taking me but I trusted her so it really didn't matter as long we were together, as I sat in the front seat I giggled as I saw El ensure I hadn't scrached her beloved Arnold yes that was the name of her car. A cherry red chevy impala that I'm pretty sure is the only thing she might chose over me. Honesty I was a little jealous!
Then suddenly I realised my thoughts I was talking as though we had been dating for months! We had only actually been together for a day....
Was that all, I felt we had been together for much longer and yesterday seemed like a lifetime ago and in a way I suppose it was, so much had changed since then and that reminded me I had to update Emma on how my love confession had gone. I switched on my phone and saw I had 15 missed messages from my parents, I winced and remembered I hadn't told them I was going anywhere I quickly fired a quick text to my mum saying that I was fine and I would be home in a couple of hours. They quickly text me back saying that that was fine but we were going to talk about this when I got home, I winced again. My parents weren't controlling but I hadn't realised how well everything would go and I hadn't told them I wasn't coming home I really couldnt blame them, I'm sure I would feel the same towards mine and Ellerie's kids.
I blushed profusely as once again my brain betrayed me. Ellerie smirked as she dropped into the drivers seat. I fired a quick text to Emma telling her how everything had gone and telling her I would call her later."What are you blushing about? Imagining me naked!?" she teased mercilessly, I rolled my eyes and shoved her in her ribs but had to hide another blush she did look very good naked and she laughed at my discomfort. I shoved her again as she started the car,
"hey could I ask you something?" I wondered
"sure, anything" came the reply
"I know we're kinda dating now but I don't know a lot about you so tell me."
"well I was born in Ireland"
"you're Irish!?!"
"no no my parents were visiting my grandparents in mayo and my mum went into premature labour my gran was the best she could really understand both my parents not just my mum, I've never met my dad's parents they were quite rich but barely talked to my dad they couldn't understand his genius. When my grandad died my gran moved to England but 3 years ago she died and they kind've got worse they were never great at communication but after she died they distanced themselves, they do try but it's hard for them. "
" I'm sorry that sucks. So that's why you look after daisy and mack"
She nodded. "yeah. But it wasn't all bad I had Jo and they kept me sane when things were tough. I remember once we went ice skating together with mack and daisy too and ha ha it was so funny Jo went flying as soon as they touched the ice and they skidded like bambi and then ha ha they began knocking everyone over and there was this guy that Jo had had a crush on for the longest time and Jo went flying towards him and they crashed into him so hard and they both fell onto the ice and they spun around ha ha so fast they knocked ha ha Mr. McConnell over, the headmaster of our school and he gave Jo and Adam the boy detention on the spot ha ha. It was so funny Jo was so mad at me and nearly died when they saw who they'd crashed into. " Ellerie wheeze laughing tears rolling down her cheeks and her laughter was infectous and I found myself laughing along with her. Finally we reached our destination. We were at a large park I had never seen before it was full of trees and grassy banks, a rare sight in LA so I was surprised I hadn't been there before though to be fair Ellerie did live on the other side of town. "what are we doing here?" I asked confused, I had assumed we would be going to the cinema or for breakfast in a restaurant. "have patience dear, have patience" she grinned and helped me out of the car I felt heat rise in my cheeks once again and I scolded myself for falling for such an idiot.
When I exited the car holding her hand I saw a picnic basket with sparkling grape juice in a tartan wicker basket and underneath her arm a tartan picnic blanket I squealed In delight and flung my arms around her happily. Now it was her turn to blush "g.. glad you like it dear" she stuttered and I was again reminded that she was just as nervous around me as I was around her. I grinned and held her hand as we walked to a grassy bank.
