I've been standing in the dark right outside of Mando's room for the past ten minutes, trying to build up the courage to knock on his bedroom door while messing with a red blindfold in my hands. Sleep wasn't something that was coming easily to me tonight. No matter how much I paced around my room or how much I tried to smoother myself with my own pillow, nothing was helping me fall asleep.

My body still felt absolutely exhausted and spent from what had happened last night and my muscles felt tense and uncomfortable. I didn't know how to get rid of the feeling, but I knew that I would have to fix the feeling soon because I would start losing my fucking mind if I didn't.

I take a deep breath and pivot around on my heel, turning to face Mando's door. I take a step forward and roll my tense shoulders back, knowing that I would eventually have to knock on the metal slab. I take one more deep breath and then slowly lift my hand, letting my knuckles hover close to the door.

"Hey, Din... you awake?" I ask in a hushed tone, gently rapping my knuckles against the cold metal door.

His side of the door stays quiet for a few moments, making me think that he was already fast asleep, unlike my jittery ass. And just as I was ready to turn away and head back to my own room (you know, to go through the insufferable act of not being able to sleep in my own bed properly), a quiet rustle from behind the door catches my attention, making my freeze in place.

I look back up as the door slides right open, revealing an attentive yet tired-looking Mandalorian. His shoulders were slumped, but his head seemed to be perked up, telling me that he was at least paying attention. He was wearing a warm looking pair of pants and a thin sleeping shirt, his helmet barely adjusted on his head properly.

"Sorry if I woke you," I immediately apologize, messing with the red blindfold in my hands.

"Don't worry, you didn't. You alright?" he asks, tilting his head to the side in a slightly worried manner. I let out a small sigh and squeeze the blindfold that I was slowly starting to loop around my fingers. "Mae?"

"I know we still have a few more hours until we get to Sorgan and I know I should be trying to get some sort of sleep right now, but I can't," I say in a quiet, rushed tone, keeping my eyes glued to the metal flooring beneath us. My pride was struggling to comprehend the situation, saying that I was actually admitting that I was having trouble with something. "Would it be okay if I... Do you think I could stay with you tonight?"

He blankly stares at me for a few long seconds without saying a single word. Since he stays silent, I instantly assumed that his answer was going to be no. I draw in a deep breath and hold it, taking a small step away from the door.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have even asked-"

"Come on," he says, interrupting me with a gentle tone. He nods his head towards the inside of his room, slowly stepping out of the way so I could walk in. The breath I had been holding comes out as a quiet sigh and I slowly walk into his room. I take a seat on the bed, folding my fingers over the corner of the soft mattress.

I felt tense yet comfortable sitting in his room and I couldn't exactly tell why. Well, if I were being completely honest with myself, it was probably because he had to witness me have a fucking breakdown last night and we haven't really thought to bring it up or speak of it.

"What's that?" he asks, sliding the door shut while look down at the red blindfold I was still twirling around my delicate fingers. I sit up a bit and stop messing with the thin cloth.

"It's the blindfold I usually use when I'm training. I brought it so you wouldn't have to sleep with your helmet on. I know it's probably uncomfortable trying to sleep with it on," I say, shrugging my shoulders while going back to wrapping it around my fingers. He takes a step towards me and holds his hand out. I lift it and rest it in his hands, letting him slip away the red cloth from my fingertips.
