Chapter 12:
*Tessa's POV*
15 minutes after my free period started, I walked my way over to Snape's classroom. He sees me in the doorway and asks me to wait outside for a bit. A few minutes pass until I hear him speak again.
"You have got to be my most difficult class. I turn my head for one second and someone has either broken something or blown up their cauldron. Miss Tessa Malfoy will be helping me out until further notice," and with those words, I walk into the classroom and face the third year Gryffindors and Slytherins. The third years start whispering among themselves when they see me walk in. Harry's face immediately lights up and I shoot him a quick smile. "Miss Malfoy, I need you to grade some papers so I am going to have you sit here while I teach." I nod and sit down at the separate desk he has set aside for me and start to grade papers. I got through the stack pretty quickly, since it was only some homework and I set the stack aside. "Okay thank you Miss Malfoy for grading these, I will look over them later. They are brewing Doxycide, I would appreciate it if you would walk around and make sure they are doing it correctly." I nod and start to walk down the rows of Slytherins and Gryffindors concentrating on their potions.
"Psst! Tessa!" I look over my shoulder and see Draco waving me over to him and Crabbe.
"What do you want?"
"Damn. Your sister's feisty." Crabbe laughs. I shoot him a glare and he immediately stops.
"What are you doing here?" Draco asks.
"Were you not listening to Snape? I'm his assistant for this class because you guys are too much."
"Oh shoot I missed that, I wasn't paying attention earlier." I roll my eyes at my brother.
"Yea I could tell, your doxycide looks awful. What did you do?" I peer into the two boys' cauldrons and see a murky green liquid, rather than the deep black doxycide is supposed to be.
"I juiced the Bundimun then added the acid and stirred slowly. Then crushed the streeler shells and added them in. Then-"
"Draco you're already doing it wrong! You have to stir quickly when you add the Bundium acid. And you can't just crush the streeler shells you have to grind them." I say cutting him off.
"Ugh but that's so much more work." I laugh at my brother's laziness.
"That's the point, Draco. Potions is exact. You can't just skip over steps and take shortcuts. You have to do every single step to the dot." Explaining to my brother why you need to not be lazy is like explaining rocket science to a 6 year old. Literally impossible.
"Fine fine whatever. We get it, you're good at potions." I ruffle his hair and tell him to get back to work as I make my way over to the Gryffindor side. Harry see's me and immediately waves me over to check on his potion.
"Hey Harry! How have you been?"
"Fantastic! I think my potion is looking good, can you check on it?" I nod and peer into his cauldron. It was the perfect black color like it was supposed to be.
"Harry it looks great! You're improving so much."
"Because of you!" Harry says as he continues to stir his potion. "Are you free tonight? I need your help again." I laugh and look at him. He's so adorable, he reminds me of a little puppy sometimes.
"Of course Harry. I'm happy to help you anytime." If I was being honest, even though I was just helping Harry out with his homework, I genuinely liked hanging out with him and his friends. He is actually pretty funny and I always have a good time with him. "Are Ron and Hermione going to be there?" He shakes his head.
"Hermione has to do work for her extra classes and Ron has detention for blowing up his cauldron the other day."
"Ok sounds like it's just you and me!"
"I'll meet you at the Astronomy Tower at 6?" I nod and walk away to go check on Ron. He finally started warming up to me and I needed to make sure he didn't blow up his cauldron... again.
