(A/N) i am crying in an uncool way (A/N)

Harry's POV

"Can you please take me to Louis?" I ask Lexi, knowing she is likely the only one who will honor my request.

"Yeah, put your hood up and sunglasses on, he's on another floor but I'm going to wheel you up there," she says, unlocking the breaks on the hospital bed.

"I can walk, love," I say while attempting to sit up, but I flop back down after a sharp pain shoots up my spine and into my head.

"It's protocol that I wheel you..." She looks at me then her bosses.

"Okay," I accept my fate and wait until we arrive to Louis' room.

"Here we are," Lexi announces, parking my bed right next to Louis, and close enough so they are touching, like we are in one big bed.

She leaves the room and I stare into Louis' eyes, which are full of worry.

"Harry... I have HCM," He says after a moment, and I break into a full sob.

He pulls me into him and I cry into his chest, I don't know how much time passes, but I know we've been like that for awhile. When we hear a soft tap on the door, I get off of him and lay in my own space, trying to steady my breathing.

Louis' POV

"Louis, we have good news and bad news," Dr. Yang announces, pausing before continuing, "The bad news is, we need to put you on the list for a transplant. We don't want to do a surgery now, when you will be getting a new heart soon. The good news is, due to the severity of your condition, in about 3 months you will be placed at the top of the donor list." Dr. Yang drops the bomb on us, Harry grabs my hand and squeezes it.

"Dr., may I speak to you privately outside?" Harry surprises me by asking her, she nods in response and he slowly gets up to follow her out of the room.

"Harry-" I call out.

"Be right back love," Harry says softly, blowing a kiss at me.

Harry's POV

She stares at me expectantly, and I close the door to Louis' room.

"The Doctors just told me that I am going to kick the bucket in roughly six weeks. Is there anyway I can donate my heart to Louis?" I ask her, desperation clear in my voice.

"First we need to see if you are even a match. If you are, you can fill out some paperwork and direct your heart to Louis," She says after a moment, looking at her assistant.

"I'd like to do that now please," I firmly state, tears falling down my face.

She nods and tells her assistant to get the stuff to test me.

Louis' POV

Harry enters the room, face a mess from crying.

"Come here love, I'm going to be okay," I open my arms for a hug, but he sits on the edge of his bed, holding a steady, tearful gaze with me.

"I know, Lou," He says, looking at his feet.

"What's wrong Haz?" I ask him, he takes a few deep breaths before talking.

"It's not just a herniated disc," Harry says, hiccuping through tears.

I feel panic overtake my body. I sit upright to get closer to him.

"What is it Harry?" I use my finger to tilt his chin up to make eye contact with me.

"I, uh, I have cancer Lou. It's really bad, and I only have about six weeks left babe, most of which I will be sick, I love you so much, I'm sorry," He shakily says through tears, and I pull him close to me in a tight hug.

I break into a full sob, we stay like that for a while.

"There's not any kind of treatment?" I pull back and ask.

"They said I could do chemo, but it would only give me two more years of pain and suffering. Apparently the tumor is pretty much inoperable, and I'd probably die in surgery,"

When he says "die" the floodgates reopen, and I completely lose it.

This is so fucked.

I pull myself together after a good 30 minutes, then I look into his green eyes, dull with sadness.

"What were you talking about with Dr. Yang?" I question, and as if on cue she enters the room.

"Harry, you are a match for Louis," She says, nods her head and leaves the room.

"What is she talking about, Harry?" I ask him, voice shaking with fear.

"Louis, I want you to have my heart, literally," Harry speaks slowly, tears welling in his eyes.

"Harry... I can't, theres no-"

"Lou, please. That way I am always with you. I gave you my heart so long ago, you need this, and I want to be the one to save you. It's my last cha-"

I cut him off with a tear-soaked kiss, gently pressing his lips into mine.

He stills, but then melts into me like he always does when I catch him by surprise.

He pulls back, cheeks stained with tears.

"This is my last chance to take care of you in this life, Lou. Please please accept my offer, and take my heart, figuratively and literally," He grabs my hand in his with one of his hands, and wipes away my tears with his thumb on his other hand.

"Haz-"

"Lou, I will always be with you, always in your heart. Please," He begs, holding my gaze while tears stream down his face.

"How the fuck am I going to live without you Harry?" I choke out.

"You won't be, I'll be right here, always," He says gently, rubbing my chest with his palm.

We sin silence for awhile, holding each other close while until a slew of doctors come in.

"Harry, if you in fact want to direct your heart to Louis, here is the forms necessary for that to happen," Dr. Yang hands Harry a stack of papers and a pen, which he immediately starts filling out, making my stomach churn.

"Harry, are you sure you want to forgo treatment? Its really not-" Another doctor cuts in, but Harry interrupts her.

"Yeah, I've made up my mind. Thanks," He says in a kind voice.

"Okay, well here are discharge papers, Louis, we will be in touch regarding your condition. You are to rest and take it easy until the transplant, we prescribed you a medication, but you should not perform. Here is my personal cell number, you can message me any time, and I'd be happy to discuss this with your management as well. You have a chance at a long healthy life, thanks to this one right here. You need to take a rest from performing so you don't cause more strain," Dr. Yang informs me, motioning towards Harry near the end.

"And for you, Harry. You may feel fine now, but you will soon start to feel really ill. You are free to go home, but come in if any serious symptoms arise," the doctor Harry interrupted earlier speaks to him, earning a nod in response.
