"It's the same every year, packed with muggles of course, platform 9 ¾ this way!" Mrs. Weasley spoke in a high pitched voice.

The Weasleys were walking in front of us so all I could see were a group of redheads, until I noticed another young boy, with a trolley and a beautiful white owl, heading towards them. I wanted to say hello, but I figured it was best to wait until we were on the train.

I watched as Charlie ran through the wall between platform nine and ten. I've seen him do it many times before but for some reason, this time, it made me more nervous than ever.

The Weasleys and the small, brown haired boy, had already gone through, and my parents were telling me and Hallie that we were going to be late if we didn't work up the courage to leave king cross station. I squeezed Hal's hand and ran through the wall. It felt like a cloud was flying right through me, It was all dark for less than a second until I entered the famous platform 9 ¾.

It was beautiful, the Hogwarts Express of course, it was bigger than I could ever imagine. I walked over to the Weasleys and hugged Ginny goodbye. I already said my goodbyes to Luna when we had a sleep over the other night.

I was just about to make it to my parents when a bleach blonde boy bumped into me. He looked me up and down, as if he... disapproved and after bumping into me again (on purpose this time) he pridefully walked away. I looked back at him in disgust, and jogged over to my parents. I hugged them several times, teared up multiple times and once we said our final goodbyes, and grasped Hallies' arm and headed towards the train.

It was 10:55 and the train leaves at 11:00 so there was still a few open compartments. Hallie and I squeezed into Fred and George's compartment with Angelina Johnson, Lee Jordan, and one of Angelina's friends, I don't know her name. We would have joined Ron, as he was in our year, but Fred, George and I wanted to give Hallie a scare later on in the trip. The window was open so I waved to the Weasleys and what was left of my family with a huge smile on my lips. Before the train sped off, I saw my mum point to her head, wink, and smile. I reached for my own head, to see what she was talking about and felt the red and yellow clips brush against my fingers. My heart dropped immediately.

"Hallie, what if we aren't put in Gryffindor? Mum's going to dis-own us!!"

"Cassie, calm down, we are definitely going to be put in Gryffindor. And if we aren't you know we will be together in whatever house we're put in. Were twins."

Hallie's words didn't calm me in the slightest. What if I was put in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw without her? I've never really worried about what house I'd be put in until today. I can't even imagine the letter that I would receive from my mum if she found out I was not a Gryffindor. The image of the sorting hat choosing something other than Gryffindor as it is placed on top of my head, flooded my thoughts. What would I do, how would I make friends? Having my life planned out for me is easy, but what if I ruin-

"Cassie, snap out of it'' Fred snapped his fingers right in front of my nose. I looked at him worriedly but after I noticed his concerned face, I forced myself to push down my nerves and grin up at him. "Oh, sorry, I was just remembering that time when you fell off your broom and I had to save your sorry little self." The whole compartment laughed as Fred sat back on the bench and turned a bright red color. I fake laughed along with them, and finally managed to push all of the nerves out of my head.

"Trolley! Anyone want to purchase something from the Trolley? Anything from the Trolley dears?" the creepy witch smiled down at us, but before I could make eye contact with her, I drew my eyes away, towards the window.

The Weasleys and our family don't have a lot of spare cash so Hallie, Fred, George and I pulled out our packed lunches that Anna and Molly had made for us, while Angelina and her friend shared a pumpkin pasty and chocolate wand from the Trolley. Lee bought a chocolate frog, that he let free onto the window, and a pack of Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans to share with the whole compartment. He handed me a brown spotted jelly bean, and as soon as it touched my tongue, I spit it right back into his hand.

"Gross Cassie! It couldn't have been that bad" he whined, shaking the slobber off of his palm.

"You try it then, if you're so brave"

To my pleasure he picked up one of the liver flavored beans and plopped it into his mouth, his faced turned green with disgust as he spit it right back out as I had done. Embarrassed, he turned away from me and began to talk with Fred and George.

Around the middle of the train ride, Hallie left the compartment to use the restroom.  This gave us the chance to hide under the benches/table and fill the whole compartment with fake spiders and cockroaches. As she entered the compartment, she didn't realize what was going on at first but when she did, she screamed at the top of her lungs. We all laughed and left our places from under the benches. I gave Fred and and George both a fist bump and a "Boo-ya" and we all sat down. I could tell that Hallie had turned red in the cheeks and she had started tearing up so I  mouthed "sorry" and squeezed her small fingers. Angelina made the spiders and cockroaches disappear with a simple disappearing charm that made both Hallie and I look up and gasp.

Hallie gave us the cold shoulder for another half hour after the prank, until Fred pulled out some wizard cards. Hallie would never resist a game of cards. During the game, Lee cheated twice, and Angelinas' friend won basically every round. We would have played until we got to Hogwarts but a curly brown haired girl, about my age, and a short oval faced boy entered our compartment.

"Have you lot happened to see a toad anywhere? My friend Neville here cant seem to find him." by her voice I could just tell that she was smart. Maybe we would become friends and I could cheat off of her notes?

Angelina kindly replied with a "haven't seen him anywhere, good luck!"

After the duo left, Fred and George told Hallie and I that we best be getting our robes on for we were getting close to the school. I happily obeyed and pulled my silky black robes over my small shoulders. They fit comfortably, and before I could trip over the table and fall straight into Lee's lap, I sat down.
