(Bump, crash, thump...)

James woke up to strange sounds emanating from his living room. He heard the sound of a heavy object dropping and the muffled sounds of cursing. James softly got up making no noise as not to alert the criminals downstairs. He slipped on his robe, then went in his nightstand drawer retrieving a large Bowie knife.

Bowie in hand he tip-towed slowly down the hall making absolutely no sound. He gently sauntered down the steps to see a small framed figure dressed in all black struggling to pick up a flat-screen.

The black-draped burglar was struggling so hard it allowed James to sneak behind him and place his blade against his throat and wrap his arm around his torso. The criminal was so slim it took only one of James' muscular arms to bind the boy.  As James held him he could feel is light frame shake from anxiety. James walked backward with the person's body held close to his and flicked on the light switch.

That must-have ignited the flight or fight instinct because the individual tried to pull away from James. This was, of course, futile for James' way out powered this wannabe thief. He pushed the tip of his blade into their neck ever so slightly just to send a message. "Calm down," James said in a steady tone. When the light came on, James sat the assailant down in a chair and using the string from his robe tied them down.
He got a good look at the fugitive... Seeing that it was a young boy. He couldn't have been more than 19. He was tanned with curly hair and freckles under his eyes and down his cheeks. James was tall, strong, fit but not extremely muscular. He had broad shoulders and brown skin. As James stood towering over the boy. The boy broke his lips to speak. "please" was all he got out before James softly went "shhh". James looked at the boy while tracing his cheekbones with his knife.

" What is your name," said James in a calm collected manner. The calm of his words terrified the boy. "m-Miguel " said the bound and frightened boy in a light Spanish accent.
