Kaminari woke up to Jirou smacking his face with a pillow. "Why..." He groaned in protest, rolling over and pulling the covers over his head.

"Wake up dummy," Jirou demanded, "We have to meet up with Kirishima and Bakugou at the breakfast area in around half an hour."

"Ten more minutes..."

Jirou pulled the covers away smacked him again. "We don't have much time left, idiot. You still need to get ready."

"But I'm tireeeeeeed..." His muffled voice whined from beneath his pillow.

"You'll be fine once you wake up. We're going to the beach today," She informed him, causing Kaminari to jump out of bed like a little child and happily run into the bathroom to change. Well...that worked out.

While she waited, Jirou went over to an air conditioning vent near the windows, picking up her now-dry book. She'd set it there to dry yesterday after it got splashed with pool water. The pages were a little rumpled now, but it was no big deal as long as the words were still intact. Because she had already finished getting ready, she sat down in an armchair. After crossing her legs and making herself comfortable, Jirou opened the book and tried to find the page where she had left off.

Since they were going to the beach after breakfast, she had worn a one-piece swimsuit underneath her clothing. She also packed two towels, a spare change of clothes, and a bottle of sprayable sunscreen all inside of a waterproof duffel bag. Intrigued with her book, Jirou barely noticed as Kaminari quietly came out of the bathroom. He went over to the closest bed, grabbed a pillow, and tiptoed over to her.

Smack!

"What the hell?!" Jirou squealed in surprise, dropping her book. "KA-MI-NA-RI!" She yelled furiously.

"That's payback for earlier," Kaminari explained, grinning. "Now let's have a pillow fight!"

"Why you little-" Jirou scowled, yanking the pillow from behind her back and hitting him with it. "You interrupted my reading again!"

"Can't you just finish it later?" He asked, ducking out of the way as she tried to hit him again.

"They were about to kiss!" Jirou cried in complaint. "They were so close to kissing, and then you interrupted me! Just like they were about to kiss when you splashed water onto my book."

"And how was I supposed to know they were about to kiss?!" Kaminari said defensively, ducking again as she swung the pillow at him. "That's not my fault!"

"But it is your fault that I got interrupted," She replied, giving him an irritated glare.

Kaminari knew he'd lost. He sighed, admitting defeat.

Jirou's expression softened. She giggled, taking the opportunity to smack him with her pillow. "It's ok idiot, I've already read the book twice."

"Hey!" He yelled accusingly, muttering, "And you're still getting mad at me for it?"

"That doesn't mean I don't enjoy re-reading it just as much as I do the first time!" Jirou huffed indignantly, crossing her arms and pouting.

They stared at each other for a moment without speaking, before the two of them burst out laughing. They smacked each other with pillows until Kaminari knocked Jirou over, both of them falling onto the floor and laughing so much it was hard to breathe.

"That was- so much- fun-" Kaminari chuckled, completely out of breath.

"Yeah," Jirou said softly, giggling and looking into his golden eyes. He's so close...

It was at that moment when they became fully aware of just how close they were; how little proximity was left between their faces. The slightly-panted breathing coming from both of them, a result of the laughter they'd shared while goofing off. Oh, how much they both desperately wanted to lean in...just a little closer...

They were so close to kissing.
