MASHIHO

"Mashiho, what are you doing?" Hyunsuk asked, staring at me oddly.

Ah, crap. I was hiding because my ears turned red—all because of that girl, Miwa.

"Nothing," I said, stepping out from my hiding spot (which was behind Doyoung) with as much courage as I could muster.

"M-My name is, uh... Takata Mashiho. Just call me Mashi, Shiho, Mashiho, or whatever you want," I said, smiling nervously and biting my bottom lip afterward.

"So, Miwa, do you still remember everyone's names?" Jihoon asked her.

What the heck, Jihoon? She hasn't even introduced herself to me properly yet!

"Of course. Yoshi, Hyunsuk, Doyoung, and Mashiho," she said confidently, sitting up straight.

"Oh, I feel loved," Yoshi said, putting a hand over his chest like he was proud.

We all laughed together, except Jihoon, who just smiled by showing his teeth, of course.

What's with this dude?

As expected, the teacher wasn't coming since she had a meeting. The boys and I were happy about it, it meant more time to spend with Miwa.

"What's your ideal type, Miwa? Or maybe who?" I blurted out, causing all my friends to turn their heads toward me in unison.

"What?" I asked innocently.

Stupid Shiho. Stupid. What kind of question was that?

Still, I really wanted to know her ideal type—so I could be exactly what she wanted. We had only just met, but I was already curious about her.

"Actually, I don't have an ideal type. As long as the person is trustworthy, that's good enough for me," she said, pursing her lips.

"You can trust me," I suddenly blurted out.

Shiho, stop! I swear I need to stop saying nonsense.

I quickly looked away, realizing what I'd just said. I couldn't control myself.

"Me too," Hyunsuk said confidently, and the others chimed in as well.

I hate all of you.

Miwa just laughed softly at their enthusiasm. When break time came, I knew I had to sit beside her. I needed to know more about Miwa. She was the first person to steal my heart in nineteen years.

Maybe we were soulmates? If so, I'd be the luckiest guy ever. I promised myself that I'd win her over, no matter what. Even though I didn't know what the future held, I just wanted her—and only her.

I promised. Period.

Nothing was going to stop me. But I could feel Jihoon's glare. While the others were talking to Miwa, he was looking directly at me.

This couldn't go on. We were friends. I didn't want to argue over a girl and ruin our bond. I hoped that wouldn't happen.

But the others might like her too. This could be a tough challenge.

MIWA

The boys led me to the lunchroom, which was more like a large canteen. We went to the food court and grabbed our meals. The menu was amazing—there was Ddeokbokki, my favorite!

I already loved this school. The boys were nice, but a little weird. By "weird," I mean they stuttered whenever they talked to me—especially Mashiho and Doyoung. Hyunsuk, on the other hand, was the complete opposite, he was always confident.

Also, we'd just met today, and they were already asking me about my ideal type. That's what I meant by "weird."

"There they are!" Yoshi pointed at a group of boys sitting at a long table, eating peacefully.

I guessed they were their friends.

I followed the boys to the table, awkwardly standing there while they immediately took their seats.

All the guys stared at me with confusion. I gave them an awkward smile in return.

Jihoon's friends were so... hot. Not gonna lie. Imagine a bunch of good-looking guys staring at you like that.

I recognized one of them. Of course, I knew Hyunsuk, Yoshi, Mashiho, and Doyoung we'd just met. But there was someone Jihoon always called "Foxy." I couldn't quite remember his real name. He used to come to Jihoon's house sometimes when my family and I had dinner with Jihoon's family. Jihoon's mom would always invite him to join us.

"Sorry, Miwa. Here's some space for you," Jihoon said, making room so I could sit.

I had a feeling these guys were watching my every move.

"So everyone, meet Miwa. She's the cousin I was talking about," Jihoon announced.

"Hi, Miwa! I'm Junkyu, your happy virus!" A guy with a cute face exclaimed.

He was too adorable to handle.

"Jaehyuk," another guy said, raising his hand.

He seemed cool, I could feel the vibe.

"I'm Asahi, your future boyfriend," a cocky-looking guy smirked at me.

"Foxy" playfully smacked Asahi's arm, and everyone laughed.

Future boyfriend? I didn't think so.

"Hey, Miwa, I'm Yedam. I'm the one who always came to Jihoon's house," he said with a smile.

Oh, right—Yedam!

"Hi, I'm Junghwan. Nice to meet you!" he said, smiling brightly.

"I'm Jeongwoo, and this is Haruto," Jeongwoo said, while Haruto nodded—his mouth too full to speak.

"Now, now, cuzzy, you've met all of my friends," Jihoon said.

"Yes! It's nice to meet you all!" I said happily.

"Bros, look at that girl," Hyunjin said, pointing toward Jihoon's table.

"Jihoon's cousin. Lucky him," Jisung muttered.

"Why would Jihoon be lucky, Hyunjin? They're only cousins, and they can't even be together. That would be incest," Felix said with a laugh.

Hyunjin chuckled. "They're so close, though. I know what Jihoon's intentions are."

"Poor Jihoon. Incest zone," Jisung said, laughing.

"Incest zone, huh? Good one, Jisung," Hyunjin said, patting his back.

"You know what? Let's get closer to his cousin. We'll make Jihoon and his gang jealous," Hyunjin said with a smirk.

"What? You want to use that girl for revenge?" Felix asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Of course not, idiot. We'll just make Jihoon jealous. That's all," Hyunjin replied, continuing to eat.

"I'm in," Jisung said boldly.

"Same," Felix agreed.
