BLAKE'S P.O.V.
Waking up in the morning has never been my happiest hour. My head pounded against the walls of my skull as I wobbled across the room into the bathroom to get some aspirin from the medicine cabinet. After I dropped Christina off last night I came back home so I'm not expecting any delicious breakfast buffet today as It was just a few days to Marina's and Nate's wedding.

I hopped into the shower and let the water rain down on me as it's ever so precious steam enveloped the entire bathroom. It felt like I was walking out of a spaceship when I opened the door. I got dressed and made my way downstairs to the kitchen to make myself a quick breakfast before I went to the station.

"Finally they're getting married" I thought as I cracked a few eggs on the pan and popped two slices of bread into the toaster. The ding sound from the toaster rang as the bread popped out looking brown and crispy, just the way I liked it

I grabbed the plate of eggs and poured myself a cup of coffee before proceeding to the living room to catch the morning news. Monica Smith the head anchor woman of channel 7 news was on with the daily reports

"Good morning and welcome back to Channel 7 news" She said as theme song played "Police have advised the general public to continue to remain vigilant as the serial killer known as Ghost is still at large on the streets of Lemon County"

I scooped up a spoon full of eggs and took a bite from the toast as I listened to the news report "After our last Interview with Detective Blake Hunter we learnt that two people have fallen already by His hands, a female by the name of Allison Parker and the renowned Lawyer Mr Damien Peterson. Although the police have failed to ascertain any pattern to the murders they have asked the general public to remain vigilant as a curfew has now being instated by the mayor, Mayor Goodman"

"In a press conference held at the Mayor's office on Sunday, he spoke about the new curfew being set to 11pm to 6am everyday. Citizens are advised to adhere to the time and stay indoors when necessary"

"It was a logical move" I thought as I took a sip from my cup of coffee

"In other news a scorched cab was found in the middle of freeman express earlier this morning, although there has not been any reports of anyone injured it was strange to have found the car burnt down. This is the second time a vehicle has been found burnt in the last month and it makes one wonder if we have an arsonist as well as a serial murderer on the loose" She said as she flipped through the papers in her hand

"The value of the stock market has plummeted as-

I switched off the tv as I finished my breakfast, although I wouldn't say I was filled. I could feel inside that today wasn't going to be a good day.

The weather outside reeked of old man and drugs and one can only wonder what kind of sign that was. The drive down to the station wasn't all that pleasant as the traffic today seemed to be never ending, as if everyone in the county had somewhere to be, somewhere to run to.

After the battle of horns and a few scratches here and there on the cars of the impatient drivers, I finally arrived at the station. Luckily unharmed and unscathed, my car still looking as fresh as it was when I left in the morning, I pulled into the parking lot of the station and got out of the car.

I walked into the Station as I heard someone call out from behind me as I held the door

"Good morning detective" I heard Officer Mark say as he walked up to me with a pack in his hand and another pack of coffee in his other hand

"Morning Officer Mark. What do you have there?" I asked pointing to the first pack

He placed the coffee on the front desk and opened the pack up. Inside where fresh and steaming doughnuts glazed with sprinkles and chocolate cream

"I dropped a pack in the conference room with Detective Ross" He said as he closed the top

"Nate" I thought as I ran towards the conference room leaving Mark behind as he distributed the coffee around

I burst through the office doors and I could see Nate as he was about to reach into the box of doughnuts "Step away from the edibles" I said heaving and breathing hard

He looked at me and then his eyes went back down to the doughnuts before he quickly darted to pick one up and stuff his face with it. I ran up to the table and quickly grabbed one as well from the box. I can't be caught without a doughnut this morning

"Where's Chris?" He managed to say with a mouthful

"She's with Marina I believe" I said as I swallowed

"Oh okay" He said

We battled through as we ate up the entire six piece pack of doughnuts and now we're on opposite chairs feeling embarrassed for each other

"Hey where's Heather?" I asked when I realized I hadn't seen her yet

"She texted me really early this morning that she wasn't feeling too good so she won't be in today" He said as he pushed the empty doughnut box to me

"Okay" I said pushing it back to him "You seem rather calm for someone getting married in a few days"

While we sat down and passed the empty doughnut boxes in silence, I kept thinking if there was something that we missed that would maybe point us in the right direction of our investigation.

"If you continue thinking you're gonna sprout out grey hairs before my first child is born" Nate said noticing my aloof mind

"Well if I don't crack my mind now more lives might be lost" I said tossing the box into the trash can that was close to the door, and missed horribly "Speaking of first child, you're getting married in a few days. How are you feeling about that?"

"Yeah there's that" He said as he walked to pick up the box and disposed it properly "I'm thinking of pushing it forward until this investigation is over"
