"K-Kaminari," Jirou squeaked, feeling her face burning up.
Kaminari's face was equally as red as hers. "Um...I..."
"We should get going," She whispered, trying to avoid looking directly at him. Her heart was hammering in her chest, so loudly that he could probably hear it from a mile away.
"Y-Yeah," Kaminari stammered.
"Can you g-get off me please?"
"Ahh...sorry..." He replied, blushing even harder. He gently got off of her, staring awkwardly at a random fiber on the carpet floor.
The silence was deafening, roaring in their ears like ocean waves crashing against a shore. Jirou wordlessly got up, grabbing the duffel bag she packed and heading towards the door. A click echoed through the soundless room as she pressed down on the handle and pulled the door open, stepping out into the hall.
Kaminari followed behind her, unsure of what else he could possibly do. I hope she's not mad at me, he thought anxiously. It was quiet- way too quiet. Not the good kind either, but the uneasy, awkward silence with tension so thick you could cut it with a knife.
It slowly dissipated as they walked through the halls, nearing the breakfast area of the hotel. The closer they got, the more chatter they could hear coming from the guests. The two of them stepped into the room, their eyes searching for the others.
Catching a glimpse of Kirishima's prominent red hair, Kaminari tapped Jirou's shoulder, opening his mouth to say something. Instead of words, what came out of his mouth sounded more like a strained cough. However, she got the message and followed him over to the table where the other two band members sat.
They sat down at the table where the others were already eating, both of them still perfectly silent. Kaminari felt his palms sweating, still unsure of what to say. Think, Denki. Think. He hoped the others wouldn't notice anything odd going on between them.
Jirou kept her expression plain as she set her duffel bag down on the floor. "Good morning," She said pleasantly, masking the emotions she felt from earlier under a calm, collective façade.
How does she do it?! Kaminari wondered, quickly taking glances at Kirishima and Bakugou.
Kirishima was busy eating his meal, while Bakugou was having a staring -no, scratch that- glaring contest with his plate while taking much slower bites.
The redhead glanced up from his place of food at the sound of Jirou's voice. "Morning!" He said cheerfully, smiling.
"You're late," Bakugou growled, shoving one whole biscuit in his mouth.
"I apologize," Jirou replied, glancing at Kaminari pointedly. "Someone had a bit of trouble waking up." She stood up from her seat, walking off to get food.
Kaminari sweat dropped. I still can't tell if she's mad at me or not.
"Are you gonna eat something or starve?" Bakugou asked grumpily.
"I do plan on eating," He muttered, faking a yawn. "I'm just a little...tired. Oh- and I'm surprised you aren't yelling today."
The angry blonde scoffed in reply. "Does it look like I wanna get kicked out?!" He grumbled.
"Fair point," Kaminari said, his stomach rumbling from hunger. Getting out of his chair, he headed over to the food area to get something to eat. He grabbed a paper plate from a large stack of them, walking over to a tray full of pancakes. He placed a few on his plate before grabbing a syrup bottle and drizzling the sweet liquid over the pancakes. Once he grabbed a plastic fork from a container, he walked back to their table.
Jirou was already back, her plate filled with eggs, bacon, and a piece of toast. To one side of her plate was a small styrofoam cup filled with water. She bit into her toast, staring off into space like something was distracting her.
Kaminari didn't realize how hungry he was until he took a bite of pancake. He immediately began to scarf it all down, shoving large pieces into his mouth. Mmm, delicious, but not as good as the pancakes Jirou makes, he thought to himself.
"Slow down idiot," She commanded. "You're going to choke."
Wait, Kaminari remembered, those were the exact words she said that day. Distracted, he did indeed choke on his pancakes. He began to cough, panicking when he remembered he hadn't gotten anything to drink.
Jirou sighed, grabbing her cup of water and handing it to him.
He gladly took it, gulping down half the cup of water in a matter of seconds. "I'm-" cough "fine-" cough cough "don't worry-" cough. Kaminari took another sip from the cup, along with taking a few deep breaths.
"I told you so."
