Bonhwa's POV

I'm not too sure why I'm still alive... my mother always adds glass to my meals... she doesn't hide it well enough... she reckons I'm making it up... She says that only when father is in the house.. when he's out.. her deadly intent is much more visible. "If you don't clean the kitchen bonhwa I'll cut your entire hand of this time!" She said that once... another time she said that about my finger... and she did. My middle finger on my left... she told father that I did it myself when I tried cooking dinner... One time I was doing my homework and my mother kicked me out of my chair and slapped my face... just for no reason. I don't know why she hates me so much.... my older sister Jiyaa hits me too, she always gives me black eyes........

Monday

The school holidays were over and it was time to go back to school. I've never been so happy. At lease I was more safe here.. even if I was still on my own.... I'm bullied at school but it's only verbal...

"Good morning class and welcome back" Mrs Song stood in front of class. She picked up a piece of chalk and wrote on the board

My Holiday

"Today we will start of with storytelling, I will give you one hour to write a small essay about your school break and please give detail" She walked passed all our desks and handed out pens and paper, once she finished she sat down at her desk and gave herself some paper too. "I will join too" she declared.

Everyone rushed words down on their paper about how amazing their holidays were... unlike mine..

For my holiday I spent the two weeks home. My father worked 12 hours and my mother stayed home. My sister went to stay with here friend at their bach in the beach. For 14 days my mother beat the crap out me.. it was the greatest holiday to exist

No... I didn't write that... mother would actually kill me if I spoke out about how I was treated... if ever showed up at school with a black eye, I would be sent to the principal and they would call my parents. "Oh don't worry about our Bonhwa. She's just too clumsy these days" My mother would lie. My father would have no clue and just go along with it.

"Bonhwa? I don't see you writing? Is there a problem?" Mrs Song asked. "N-no Miss.. I'm just thinking where to start.." I mumbled. "Why don't you start from the Friday afternoon when the holidays began?"

Flashback

"Enjoy your holidays class!" Called Mrs Song... Friday afternoon. I walked behind everyone while they ran together. Girls would link arms and skip and boys would yell immature things and run around. I was the last person to leave.. causing me to miss the bus.

"Hello bonhwa? Is your mother picking you up today?" I looked over and saw Mr Adams the half American Student-teacher, standing near me. I didn't know what to say... if my mother found out I missed the bus... "no.. yes, she's running late I think.." I lied. "Really? How about I call her? Or your father? I can bring you home for them?" He smiled and grabbed his phone.

"No! Don't call her please!" I yelled. I quickly placed my hands over my mouth and looked away. "I'm sorry for yelling mr-." "Ahh no don't apologise.. you missed the bus on accident and don't want to upset your mother" I looked at him confused.

"Pardon?" "When I was younger and missed the bus.. my mother would be incredibly upset... she's would call the police instantly" he laughed. Oh.. "let me drive you home. Please" he smiled.

"Um.. fine.. but keep it a secret, I'm only allowed to catch the bus" I sighed. "Why so? A secret? She must be incredibly protective" he placed his hand on my shoulder. "If I had a daughter who was incredibly gorgeous like you.. I'm sure I'd be worried sick if she missed the bus and catched a ride with a stranger" he laughed and looked at my eyes.

"I promise to keep this secret Bonhwa" "t-thank you Mr Adams" I said and blushed. "Hmmm. Since it's the holidays I'm not working as a ST anymore. So call me Jason" he smiled. "Okay...Jason" I whispered. "Now, follow me" He walked over to the faculty car park and stopped at a blue convertible. "A bachelors car" he smirked.

"Hop in!" He smiled from the inside of the car. I did as he asked. On the ride home he asked lightly about home and how it was.. "is this your house up here?" He asked after a while. I nodded and he began to slow down. "Thank You a lot Jason!" I left the car and ran past a few homes and reached mine.

I looked back at the road and saw him drive away. "KIM BONHWA" my mother yelled through the doorway. I looked at her and began to tremble. "Yes mother?" I asked and walked slowly toward her.

"I saw you in that car! Who the fuck was that man! Your fourteen! And your already a slut!" She grabbed the strap of my bag and dragged me inside. "Mother I missed the bus! Ja-Mr Adams drove me home!"

"LIES!" She yelled and slapped my face. "Mothe-" "now listen to me! You will NOT get in his car again or I will kill you! Okay!" She dragged me into the basement and closed the door behind me. "Your father is out of town for the weekend! And YOU are here while he's out!" She screamed. I heard her lock the door and stomp up the stairs....for three days she didn't speak to me.. or even feed me....

End of Flashback

I shook my head and began to write about how my parents surprised me with a puppy and that I spent the holidays playing with it.

"Okay class, one hour is up! Now pass your paper to the person on your left!" The sound of shuffling paper filled the room and chairs squeaking "Excuse me Mrs Song! I don't want her to read my story!" I looked to my right and saw Chaeyoung pointing at me.

"That's fine... just swap it with Jisoo and you can get My paper." Mrs song walked and passed the two papers over. "Bonhwa you can just read yours dear..."

The rest of the day wasn't exciting.. and when I arrived home- on the bus. Father was home early and was reading the newspaper. "Hello princess, how was school!" He asked gleefully. "Father! Your home early?" He folded up the paper and smiled. "Don't frown dear, one day those wrinkles will stay and you won't look beautiful anymore."

I heard my mother scoff and I turned around. "Mother" "Bonhwa" she frowned and left the room. "Your Mother always gets jealous when I compliment my own daughter" he sighed. I looked back at him and he looked sad. "Father.. why are you home early?"

He looked at me and smiled. "Your mother and I are going on our holiday.." he stood up and stretched. " we're leaving in an hour. Jiyaa will babysit over the week." What!?

"Why? I'm old enough to look after myself!" My father patted me on the head and smiled. "Your still a child dear"
