School the next day was, well, lonely as usual.
I sat alone in my classes. I tried to concentrate but I just couldn't. I was so, so tired...
I got my maths paper back. 12% correct, I failed - horribly. What happened to the days I was a straight A student.
At lunch I ate with a few other geeks, but I may as well of been on my own. They ignored me, like everyone else does.
I looked over at the group in the center of the cafeteria. Laughing and giggling, the pretty girls flirted with hot guys.
I sighed, remembering what I used to have.
The final bell rang and I began to walk home. It was the same route as usual, but a new store was in the alley.
It was a dainty little cafe called 'Fortune-ate'. Apparently according to the chalkboard out the front of the store you could grab a meal while getting your fortune told.
As I had nothing better to do, I walked in to the cafe. The bells rung and a middle aged women approached me.
"Hello, dear. Here for some scrumptious food?" She asked with a strong Russian accent.
"Sure," I said and she handed me a menu.
I decided on ordering a latte.
"Will that be all?" She asked.
"Um, I was wondering if I could get my fortune told as well," I said.
"Sure love, I'll just whip up your latte and then meet you in a booth," she said smiling.
I walked to the back booth and slid in. I put my earphones in and started listening to loud music to keep me awake.
I didn't realize I was singing that loudly until I heard the waitress laughing. I pulled an earphone out and gave her a half hearted smile.
"Sorry," I mumbled.
"Here's your latte," she laughed, "I'm Aura by the way."
"Thanks, I'm Haley," I said and then took a long sip of my latte.
"So, give me your palm," Aura said, beginning to settle into a serene mood.
I held out my hand and closed my eyes. Her fingers gently traced the fine lines on my palms.
"Oh my," she whispered while starting to back away.
"Wh-hat" I stammered.
"You've been having them, haven't you?" She asked, her face grim.
"I have no idea what your talking about."
"You've been dreaming about Rumridge."
